Non ci riesco

Ho scelto Vincenzo Burzagli, che qui non c'è. Quando devo compilare l'etichetta, nell'ultimo campo, non mi permette di inserire Autore: Vincenzo Burzagli. Sì, ma perchè non ci sono riuscita io? Non riesco a capire dove è il problema. Vedi anche l'help non funziona, perchè fa solo riferimento a wikipedia. Allora vedo di spiegarmi meglio: io ho cliccato "crea nuovo elemento". Si apre un'etichetta con quattro campi da compilare. Nel primo metto l'autore, nel secondo spiego chi è, ma il terzo e il quarto, che dovrebbero essere quelli che contengono i link, non me li fa modificare. Nel quarto è riportato in automatica nome e cognome come nel primo, ma lì non dovrebbe andarci Autore: Vincenzo Burzagli come link da wikisource? Fatto sta che non riesco nè a cancellarlo nè a modificarlo, e così come me lo dà non me lo accettava. Io dico che forse non sono abilitata a qualcosa. @Lagrande Bravissima! Molto bene, anche io all'inizio mi ero scontrato con questo sistema "semantizzato" di inserire i dati, ma poi una volta acquistata familiarità vedrai che è molto bello.
Ho controllato i tuoi edit e sei stata perfetta. Ho aggiunto altre informazioni.
Ti segnalo alcuni strumenti molto utili per inserire velocemente i dati e i codici di autorità.
Guarda il mio commons.js e copialo nel tuo, vedrai apparirà un box a destra e alcuni comandi a sinistra (soprattutto "Authority Control") che ti permetteranno di raccogliere e inserire agevolmente i dati.
Ti suggerisco inoltre di inserire _sempre_ anche l'etichetta e la descrizione in lingua inglese, che è quella che parlano tutti a livello internazionale, così i nostri autori saranno facilmente riconoscibili da tutti ed evitiamo problemi dovuti a omonimie. --Accurimbono (talk) 19:16, 29 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Per fare l'amministratore qui su data ci vuole una laurea in una decina di materie :-) chiedo a te perchė voi di souce penso siate molto ferrati in materia di polverosi tomi. Per fartela breve devo aggiungere le fonti a questo item Arthur Schmidt (Q1747505) scartabellando per internet ho trovato che questo libro contiene quello che fa per me [1] quindi seguendo le linee guida che voi sourciani avete contribuito a creare vedo che su data abbiamo l'item Hitler's commanders: officers of the Wehrmacht, the Luftwaffe, the Kriegsmarine, and the Waffen-SS (Q4229155) a questo punto iniziano i problemi perché da quello che ho capito di questo libro ci sono credo diverse ristampe, non ho ben capito se quella russa è un altra versione. La mia domanda è come sbrogliare la matassa? se fosse la versione russa dovrei creare un nuovo item per quella in inglese? e sopratutto come vanno trattate le ristampe (intendo dello stesso libro ma in date diverse) e invece per quelle nelle varie lingue? --Rippitippi (talk) 01:48, 8 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Rippitippi: devi creare un item del tipo Work per l'opera (che è l'elemento Q4229155) e un item per l'edizione specifica che tu vuoi utilizzare come fonte. Darete Frigio vs Darete

Hello Accurimbono, shouldn't it:Darete Frigio be linked to Dares Phrygius (Q544378) (Dares Phrygius) instead of Dares (Q3702517) (only one WP link)? You've add to it:Darete the same properties as to Darete Frigio. It would be better to add the authority files like GND 118678876 only to one person or you can use said to be the same as (P460) to indicate that they are "said to be the same as". Petrarch (Q1401)

Please note that currently all dates are specified using proleptic Gregorian calendar (Q1985727). Changing from proleptic Gregorian calendar (Q1985727) to proleptic Julian calendar (Q1985786) is changing display model for LUA modules and templates, but does not change that display in Wikidata. I.e. "20 of July" in proleptic Julian calendar (Q1985786) shall be entered as "28 of July" + calendar model = proleptic Julian calendar (Q1985786). -- Vlsergey (talk) 07:48, 3 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Vlsergey: I know... but please note that you are wrong! Be careful when you change a date!
The date that I entered had a source. You inserted the wrong date.
Petrarca was born 20 july 1304 (Julian!) and death between 18 and 19 luglio 1374 (Julian of course).
Gregorian was introduced in 1582, all the dates before 1582 are of course in Julian calendar.

The problem here that Wikidata does not support entering calendar dates in any calendar except proleptic Gregorian. Just doesn't support. All entered dates on Wikidata are in proleptic Gregorian (that defined on whole timerange) and one can only specify in which calendar dates shall be displayed. But stored -- only in proleptic Gregorian. There is a simple check I proposed below. Find out how to enter and save dates on Wikidata that exists in Julian but does not in Gregorian. This procedure would be partially applicable AFTER Wikidata UI is fixed to correctly display dates in Julian format. Currently it does not.
Your error is here:
"and tell Wikidata that it shall be displayed and automatically converted as Julian." is a wrong statement: the calendar model meaning is changed according to [3].
"calendarmodel: URI identifying the calendar model that should be used to display this time value. Note that time is always saved in proleptic Gregorian, this URI states how the value should be displayed". Can you see the difference and the stroked part?
Please read carefully the updated guideline on how to enter a date. This is a Julian date and in this way shall be inserted.

@Vlsergey: The error (IMHO) is that if you use Q1985786 (Julian prolectic) in "calendarmodel", than you shall use the Julian date in "time": "+1304-07-20T00:00:00Z".

It's not a another question, it's a question how Wikidata works. Currently Wikidata accepts dates in Gregorian calendar only, as you saw youself. Yes, but please consider that this is the way this work IN THE PAST (2104), now (July 2015) it is changed. You can see here how Wikidata works NOW.
It is not up to me choose how Wikidata works, I simply follow the recent discussions and changes. A huge work has been done by the developers to fix the problem of date representation in Wikidata and the support to Julian/Gregorian calendars.
I hope Lydia Pintscher (WMDE) can answer us with an (or more) example, so we (me or you) can reconsider our position.

Help decide the future of Wikimania

The Wikimedia Foundation is currently running a consultation on the value and planning process of Wikimania, and is open until 18 January 2016. The goals are to (1) build a shared understanding of the value of Wikimania to help guide conference planning and evaluation, and (2) gather broad community input on what new form(s) Wikimania could take (starting in 2018).

After reviewing the consultation, we'd like to hear your feedback on on this survey.

In addition, feel free to share any personal experiences you have had at at a Wikimedia movement conference, including Wikimania. We plan to compile and share back outcomes from this consultation in February.

Fusione due item

Ciao, ho fuso Dante Della Terza (Q22280150) in Dante Della Terza (Q3702354), perché ho avuto modo di appurare che sono la stessa persona, almeno in base alla ricerca di SBN e alle varie altre informazioni in giro. :)

Tra l'altro, ho scoperto che ci sono altri codici da fondere (scusa se ti sto rubando un po' il lavoro :P), ma per il momento lo staff di SBN è in ferie, quindi almeno fino agli inizi di febbraio fai riferimento a me per eventuali fusioni. Dante della Terza non l'avevo segnalato perché non ero certo che fosse la stessa persona, ma se hai appurato che sono la stessa ben venga.
Immagino che avrai già letto il mio messaggio Facebook di martedì riguardo Antonio Jerocades (T\ICCU\RCAV\137186, IT\ICCU\CFIV\034839) e Almerico da Schio (IT\ICCU\PUVV\008556 e IT\ICCU\RAVV\056777)
Per il resto non mi risultano altri fusioni da fare. Cmq basta monitorare la pagina dei log della proprietà P396.
A questo proposito in "format violation" trovi tre casi di utenti che hanno utilizzato la proprietà P396 per indicare una scheda bibliografica invece che una scheda di autorità.

Ciao, grazie per avermi segnalato l'errore. Il problema di questo tipo di errori è che sono figli di mix-and-match, se c'è un'associazione sbagliata lì quando si fa la sincronizzazione l'errore si ripercuote su Wikidata. Tra l'altro, non mi è arrivata la notifica del tuo rollback, quando lo fa qualcun altro mi scatta la campanella, quando le vedo vado a guardare e metto a posto. Adesso ho corretto l'errore su mix-and-match, quindi non dovrebbe ripresentarsi più, ma ovviamente in futuro ci saranno altri codici SBN sbagliati perché il database contiene errori. Io associo quello che posso e correggo errori che trovo, ma quando sincronizzo non sto a guardare se le associazioni fatte da altri sono giuste. Per ora c'è ancora abbastanza lavoro per associare le schede SBN agli elementi wikidata che ci sono, e creare quelli che non ci sono se ha senso (su questo rimane un punto di domanda, se vale ancora la regola che gli elementi wikidata devono essere associati ad almeno un progetto o no). Sul fatto che il database di SBN vari, io spero che sia soprattutto in senso accrescitivo, e che comunque un codice non venga passato ad un'altra persona. Io per ora mi dedico a confermare o meno che i matching automatici sono corretti, ma di schede non allineate ce ne sono tantissime, Ciao --Cruccone (talk) 16:46, 30 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
So che all'inizio si evitava di creare elementi wikidata se non c'era qualcosa sugli altri progetti, ma evidentemente le cose sono cambiate, mi sembra giusto così. Mix-and-match è divertente a piccole dosi, è una buona attività se si ha poco tempo. Finire è una parola grossa, ma almeno sincronizzare le cose importanti è un bell'obiettivo. Thanks for adding references from new sources to Wikidata. However, when doing so, please avoid overwriting or deleting existing statements (e.g. as you did here). Information there was from here.

1) Sources for data in Wikidata shall be included in Wikidata, not in Wikipedia.
2) BTW Treccani is the best source for popes. Therefore ranks shall be inverted.

I disagree with (2). I don't think there is a consensus for this. Besides, the statement is problematic if not plain wrong: it's known that the person was born in the 11th century, it's not "unknown".

Ti scrivo, ricordandomi di aver visto che avevi contribuito a it:Progetto:GLAM/Biblioteche/VIAF/SBN/Elenco autori privi di identificativo SBN, che nel caso in cui trovassi problemi nelle voci di autorità SBN, tipo errori o conflazioni, o voci di autorità assenti nonostante sia presente almeno un record bibliografico sia attribuibile a un dato autore, che puoi segnalare questi problemi direttamente a me; ho infatti la possibilità di intervenire direttamente per correggere tali imprecisioni nell'Indice SBN. Se trovi duplicazioni, basta che tu aggiunga entrambi gli ID in Wikidata e poi periodicamente passo a unire i duplicati e a togliere gli ID defunti. Qualche tempo fa ho anche aggiornato la guida it:Progetto:GLAM/Biblioteche/VIAF/SBN. Quest'anno spero anche di riuscire ad organizzare almeno un nuovo concorso su SBN qui su Wikidata (dopo il successo di Wikidata:Gruppo Wikidata per Musei, Archivi e Biblioteche/Concorso/2023/02 e Wikidata:Gruppo Wikidata per Musei, Archivi e Biblioteche/Concorso/2023/03 l'anno scorso), se riuscirò a trovare il tempo. In effetti un tempo ho lavorato molto su P396, il report era sempre bello nutrito, ora sapere che ci sei tu che riesci a riconciliare nel DB SBN le varie difformità e i duplicati è una bella notizia!
