Comarques valencianes[edit]

Hola, Micru. Ho he estat fent a força bruta, editant-ho a mà!
;-) --Albertvillanovadelmoral (talk) 20:13, 29 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
He preparat una primera versió, a vore que et pareix: Wikidata:País Valencià task force.--Micru (talk) 22:35, 29 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Molt bona feina! Ara cal posar-se les piles a treballar! --Albertvillanovadelmoral (talk) 06:27, 30 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Perfecte. Els gentilicis no els he posat jo. Simplement m'he limitat a posar-los en minúscula on ja estaven.

P132[edit]

The item single entity of population (Q3055118) is not an adminstrative entity but more a statistical entity, so it is better to use instance of (P31) instead of P132 (P132). 139.63.60.122 13:05, 30 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

OK. Thank you for the information. --Albertvillanovadelmoral (talk) 14:31, 30 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Redundant position held statements[edit]

Hi, can you explain this edit? https://w.wiki/Kxi gives some possible items where this might have been wrong too. Multichill (talk) 17:18, 22 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Multichill: the item you mention was due to a bug concerning the electoral district. I have fixed this bug in my bot. On the other hand, out of the 362 distinct problematic items of your SPARQL request, I have fixed the 29 wrong edits done my bot. Most of them were due to the fact that the date ranges were wrong in the Catalan Wikipedia (where my bot was importing from). --Albert Villanova del Moral (talk) 06:10, 23 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for fixing it! I hope we can also fix the other cases like Antonio Cariglia (Q601298). Are you also planning to work on that? Multichill (talk) 17:27, 24 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

President of France[edit]

Why you have added position held (P39)=President of the French Republic (Q191954) to several kings such as Louis VI of France (Q165883)?--GZWDer (talk) 08:10, 26 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Salut ! Amadalvarez (talk) 15:12, 29 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Duplicate P39 data from AVMbot[edit]

Hi! I've had to revert a few cases where AVMbot added position held (P39) statements that clash with existing data. My guess would be that you are simply checking for whether a P39 already exists for the same position with exactly the same qualifiers, rather than checking whether there are existing statements that are mostly the same or overlap. To take two more examples I've just found, but not rolled back yet: José Sarney (Q244997) and Fernando Collor de Mello (Q236503). In both cases you've added new President of Brazil (Q5176750) claims, one that differs only on the end date, and one where the replaces (P1365) is different. Where an almost identical statement already exists it might be worth flagging up somewhere for investigation that your source differs on one of the details, but I'm not sure that it should be simply adding largely duplicate information. --Oravrattas (talk) 08:27, 2 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

AVMbot adding incorrect positions[edit]

In [1], AVMbot added two extraneous Prime Minister statements to Mari Kiviniemi (Q105068). It looks like this was based on mis-reading the cawiki infobox, where she had actually been listed as Ministra de l'Administració Pública i Govern Local and Ministra del Comerç Exterior i Desenvolupament. I've reverted those changes, but can you please check for and revert any other similar cases? --Oravrattas (talk) 09:43, 4 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Populations légales 2018[edit]

Hi, last year you added the 2017 legal populations for all French communes with your AVMbot, many thanks for that! Do you plan to do the same for the 2018 populations? See https://www.insee.fr/fr/statistiques/zones/5001880. en:User talk:Markussep 08:49, 22 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi en:User:Markussep, you are welcome. Yes, I was thinking of doing it. I am planning to start this weekend. --Albert Villanova del Moral (talk) 06:54, 26 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
That would be great! I started doing it myself using Quickstatements, but ran into the problem that when the same population number is already given for another year, the year and reference are added to that statement, which I had to correct manually. I don’t think your bot had the same problem. So far I’ve done the communes in the departments 01, 2A, 2B, 94, 95, 971, 972, 973 and 974, and part of 02. But I’ll pause for now. BTW I did only the existing communes, no former or delegated communes (in the query: minus P582 and P576). Markussep (talk) 07:52, 28 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hi en:User:Markussep, I have already added the population for the regions, departments, arrondissements and cantons, and I am adding it for the communes. I have noticed that in the communes that you added, you forgot to set the rank as preferred for the new population value. Are you planning to fix that? I will let you know once I finish all the communes. --Albert Villanova del Moral (talk) 15:34, 8 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Albert, thanks for adding the populations! I totally missed the preferred rank, I agree that it should be done. It wasn't in the example I used to build my Quickstatements batches (en:Wikipedia:Uploading metadata to Wikidata), and frankly I wouldn't know how to do it except manually, which would be pretty tedious (1,900 entries). I see here that QuickStatements can't set ranks... Do you have an idea how to solve it? Markussep (talk) 07:45, 9 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I'm working on the preferred ranks for the populations I added with Quickstatements, I did Corse-du-Sud (2A) yesterday and fixed the double INSEE codes for those communes as well. I'm continuing with Haute-Corse (2B), going slowly. Markussep (talk) 09:47, 13 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @Markussep: Great!!! Thanks a lot for all your edits! This will be very useful for the Wikipedia Infoboxes that get the population from Wikidata: they get the population value with preferred rank. So that it would get the previous year value if you do not set the current one as preferred! ;) Thanks a lot. On the other hand, you mention that it is possible to set the preferred rank with Quickstatements? I have never used Quickstatements because I use my bot ;). May I ask you to mention that it is possible to set the rank using Quickstatement in this discussion? Wikidata_talk:WikiProject_France/Communes#Communes_with_multiple_INSEE_codes_with_none_as_preferred_rank. They just mentioned that Quickstatements does not support ranks. Thank you in advance. Regards, --Albert Villanova del Moral (talk) 11:21, 13 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
No, I stopped using Quickstatements because of the problem above, and because it can't change ranks, so I'm doing it manually. It's not the most interesting thing to do, so if you can run a bot to do the same, let me know ;-) Markussep (talk) 11:26, 13 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, I imagine so... I could try to think a way of doing it with my bot... Albert Villanova del Moral (talk) 13:14, 13 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

That would be much appreciated, especially for the larger departments like Val-d’Oise, Ain and Aisne. Markussep (talk) 14:12, 13 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Markussep: I think I finally find a way of using my bot to do that... ;) [[2]] I have started with 01 department... Special:Contributions/AVMbot --Albert Villanova del Moral (talk) 15:42, 13 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
It looks like you got them all, nice work! So the other departments I did were Aisne (02), Val-de-Marne (94), Val-d'Oise (95) and the four overseas departments Guadeloupe (971), Martinique (972), Guyane (973) and Réunion (974), and there's still a bit of Haute-Corse (2B) to be done. And of course the ones with the duplicate INSEE codes, there's also many of those in 94 and 95. Markussep (talk) 18:39, 13 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
02, 971, 972, 973 and 974 complete! The ones left (2B, 94 and 95) suffer from duplicate INSEE codes, see also this query. If it helps you set up your bot: these communes went from 01 and 38 to 69, from 20 to 2B and from 75 and 78 to 91, 92, 93, 94 and 95. Markussep (talk) 13:45, 14 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Markussep: I think everything is fixed now ;) --Albert Villanova del Moral (talk) 10:14, 15 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Yes it is! I also did the municipal arrondissements of Marseille today, so in English Wikipedia everything refers to the 2018 figures now. Thanks for the nice co-operation! Markussep (talk) 10:50, 15 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Call for participation in the interview study with Wikidata editors[edit]

Dear Albertvillanovadelmoral,

I hope you are doing good,

I am Kholoud, a researcher at King’s College London, and I work on a project as part of my PhD research that develops a personalized recommendation system to suggest Wikidata items for the editors based on their interests and preferences. I am collaborating on this project with Elena Simperl and Miaojing Shi.

I would love to talk with you to know about your current ways to choose the items you work on in Wikidata and understand the factors that might influence such a decision. Your cooperation will give us valuable insights into building a recommender system that can help improve your editing experience.

Participation is completely voluntary. You have the option to withdraw at any time. Your data will be processed under the terms of UK data protection law (including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018). The information and data that you provide will remain confidential; it will only be stored on the password-protected computer of the researchers. We will use the results anonymized (?) to provide insights into the practices of the editors in item selection processes for editing and publish the results of the study to a research venue. If you decide to take part, we will ask you to sign a consent form, and you will be given a copy of this consent form to keep.

If you’re interested in participating and have 15-20 minutes to chat (I promise to keep the time!), please either contact me at kholoudsaa@gmail.com or use this form https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdmmFHaiB20nK14wrQJgfrA18PtmdagyeRib3xGtvzkdn3Lgw/viewform?usp=sf_link with your choice of the times that work for you.

I’ll follow up with you to figure out what method is the best way for us to connect.

Please contact me using the email mentioned above if you have any questions or require more information about this project.

Thank you for considering taking part in this research.

Regards

Kholoud

Populations légales 2019[edit]

Hi, the Populations légales 2019 are available now. Would you have time to run your bot again? Many thanks in advance! en:User talk:Markussep 16:25, 14 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Población[edit]

Hello, I didn't forget the preferred rank, there are +8000 municipals in Spain and the process takes several hours. I will complete the task today, included the preferred ranks. Regards. Kizar (talk) 12:15, 27 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Lopezsuarez (talk) 15:28, 27 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello and welcome to Wikidata. When you add content to Wikidata talk pages and/or other Wikidata pages that have open discussion , please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you.  Bovlb (talk) 17:27, 28 December 2023 (UTC) --Bovlb (talk) 17:27, 28 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
