Information loss[edit]

  1. For Thompsonville (Q977427), you replaced instance of (P31) unincorporated community in the United States (Q17343829) with the parent class human settlement (Q486972), this results in the loss of information about the item.
  2. For other items you have removed the reference for GNIS Feature ID (P590). Several times I have used the imported from Wikimedia project (P143) to correct a wrong ID in the source wiki. --Bamyers99 (talk) 14:26, 17 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hello Bamyers99, I do not see a loss of information in these cases, and removing information is not my intention, of cause. Would you please be so kind to give me an impression, what kind of information is lost, especially by removing the GNIS Feature ID (P590) item? As far as I know this had been inserted as a markup to be replaced by a valid source (for Wikipedia is no source at all), and I can't see any advantage not to remove it? Source wikis are not of interest, as far as I know. I will stop my editing for a while, just to go sure, not to harm the database. Kind greetings from Hamburg, Germany. --Carol.Christiansen (talk) 04:28, 18 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for replying. The source wiki is just a convenience for me to find the source of a wrong id number and fix it on the wiki.
human settlement (Q486972) does not indicate whether a settlement has its own government or not. unincorporated community in the United States (Q17343829) specifically indicates that a settlement does not have its own government. So the item loses the information that the settlement does not have a government. --Bamyers99 (talk) 17:48, 18 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
