August 2013[edit]

Hello, I'm Andreasmperu. Welcome to Wikidata! I noticed that you recently removed a link from an item, but didn't add it anywhere else. If you feel that the link would be better suited to another item, please add it there. (If you don't know how to do that, feel free to contact me at my talk page and I can do it for you.) If you're curious about editing Wikidata, and would like to test things out, please try the Wikidata Sandbox. Thanks, and happy editing! --Andreasm háblame / just talk to me 05:14, 22 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Merging items[edit]

Hallo Daehan,

For merging items, you may want to use the merge.js gadget from help page about merging. It has an option "Request deletion for extra items on RfD" to automatically place a request to delete the emptied page. This way of nominating makes it a lot easier for the admins to process the requests.

With regards,
- User:CycnUser:CycnUser:CycnUser:Cycn - (Cycn/talk) 12:01, 15 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Cycn,
Thank you for your comment : I'll sure take it in consideration next time ;)
Thank you for your help.
Regards, --Daehan (talk) 20:59, 15 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
It would have saved you a lot of work with Q28343034 as you could have simply merged it with Isaac Briot (Q6076083). - cycŋ - (talkcontribslogs) 11:16, 16 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I realized that too late... Thank you. --Daehan (talk) 12:49, 16 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

professions like etchers[edit]

I think you are right with Rembrandt with printmaking and etching, I have the impression the hierarchy of the different professions need still some classification and artists are not always in the right category. I became aware with querying on visual artists, that not all visual art professions are under that category as some are seen as craft for example. Also, in many cases the general profession 'artist' is used. Is there a hierarchical classification of arts and do we use it in Wikidata? --Hannolans (talk) 17:57, 10 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not merge disambiguations items[edit]

A disambiguation item is exactly that, and should not be merged with another item. If a interwiki link is incorrectly assigned to a disambig then it should be moved, rather than merged. It can be evaluated for deletion after that.  — billinghurst sDrewth 14:04, 18 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello User:billinghurst,
Please check (fy), (de), (cs), (nl), (fr).
Can you tell me that all those articles are not disambiguation articles?
Thus, isn't logical to merge them into one item?
Or maybe there are disambiguation wikidata item and disambiguation wikipedia item?...
Thank you, --Daehan (talk) 14:34, 18 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I am asking that you don't merge disambiguation items into other items as it is problematic. A disambiguation item cannot also be an instance of something else with other detail. I am not saying to not fix items that need fixing. Looking at csWP, it appears to be a list of people, possibly of a family, so it is not clearly a disambiguation item, so we should not merge items.  — billinghurst sDrewth 14:49, 18 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
The guidance is at Wikidata:WikiProject Disambiguation pages/guidelines  — billinghurst sDrewth 14:51, 18 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
The wp:cs page is clearly a disambiguation page, as stated with the picture on the bottom. They are all a disambiguation name of artists of a same family. These articles should be together, to allow navigation between wp articles. Whether we should identify the wikidata item as a disambiguation page or a family artists can be debated, but unmerge them isn't a good solution. Via crucis[edit]

https://www.wikidata.org/w/index.php?title=Q104619171&diff=1364299713&oldid=1338878518 and the next. You've merged the item for a kind of devotion with the item for a form of art. It's like merging https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q51616 with https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q6941842. Panek (talk) 08:17, 19 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello to you too,
It's a kind of devotion which is also manifested through a form of art. All Wikipedia articles have the same purpose - explain the via crucis and show related art -, there is no point of distinguishing them.
The seperation you made between articles the 1st of January wasn't correct. If you want to separate wikidata items, please do, but don't split wikipedia articles as they all treat the same subject. --Daehan (talk) 08:31, 19 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Cordialement. Adoscam (talk) 08:17, 14 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Bonjour Adoscam,
Daehan (talk) 08:48, 21 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
je vois renommer, s'abonner et smart patrol Adoscam (talk) 11:00, 22 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Bonjour @Adoscam,
Daehan (talk) 12:55, 22 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Adoscam (talk) 13:59, 22 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Daehan (talk) 14:33, 22 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Adoscam (talk) 16:08, 22 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  4. Clique sur le bouton bleu "Fusionner".
Normalement, c'est bon. Daehan (talk) 16:17, 22 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Bonjour @Daehan.
Bonne journée, Daehan (talk) 08:14, 3 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Bonjour
Je vais essayer d'en parler. cordialement. Adoscam (talk) 08:29, 3 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Call for participation in a task-based online experiment[edit]

Dear Daehan,

I hope you are doing well,

I am Kholoud, a researcher at King's College London, and I am working on a project as part of my PhD research, in which I have developed a personalised recommender model that suggests Wikidata items for the editors based on their past edits. I am collaborating on this project with Elena Simperl and Miaojing Shi.

I am inviting you to a task-based study that will ask you to provide your judgments about the relevance of the items suggested by our model based on your previous edits.

Participation is completely voluntary, and your cooperation will enable us to evaluate the accuracy of the recommender system in suggesting relevant items to you. We will analyse the results anonymised, and they will be published in a research venue.

The experiment should take no more than 15 minutes, and it will be held next week.

If you agree to participate in this study, please either contact me at kholoud.alghamdi@kcl.ac.uk or use this form https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfA1wfdBfCRlcG3WhDyc-V8lzgPNx3fDFCNXkyn4CSwahXZ_A/viewform?usp=sf_link

Then, I will contact you with the link to start the study.

For more information about my project, please read this post: https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/User:Kholoudsaa

In case you have further questions or require more information, don't hesitate to contact me through my mentioned email.

Thank you for considering taking part in this research.

Regards Kholoudsaa (talk) 17:07, 5 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @Kholoudsaa,
Sorry to answer this late! Your project sounds really interesting :)
Is it too late to participate?
Best regards, Daehan (talk) 14:13, 11 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Pieter-Steph Du Toit[edit]

DarkVador [Hello there !] 15:57, 31 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @DarkVador79-UA,
DarkVador [Hello there !] 16:10, 31 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Daehan (talk) 16:25, 31 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
