United Kingdom

[edit]

Hi. I have reverted some of your edits over at United Kingdom (Q145). We have a series of separate entries for the country to represent its major changes in formation. United Kingdom (Q145) represents the country from 1927. United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland (Q174193) represents the country between 1801 and 1927. Kingdom of Great Britain (Q161885) represents the country prior to 1801. By merging information from the three items together but leaving the former two alone, you are creating a conflation. This has broken a number of constraint checks across Wikidata that rely on the dates in the separate entries. I see you are relatively new here with fewer than 500 edits, so I suspect this is the result of a misunderstanding of the wider consequences of your actions. While writing this message, I see you have now reverted my actions. From Hill To Shore (talk) 18:16, 31 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

From Hill To Shore as I wrote already on your talkpage, the erroneous set up you refer to is causing citizenship contraints to break. This causes malfunctions on Wikipedias that rely on infoboxes transcluded from Wikidata. GPinkerton (talk) 18:24, 31 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Dagon1.jpg

[edit]

Hello! Please do something with this file at Commons if you are so sure (remove? rename? mark as erroneous?) because it is still very used in Wikipedias. --Infovarius (talk) 20:12, 19 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Infovarius: Please see: w:Dagon#Fish-god_interpretation. I don't have any particular information about this. In general the whole subject area of Babylonian gods is rife with nonsense, misinformation, outdated speculation, new speculation, or simple incompetence.
