Merging items[edit]

Hallo GodeNehler,
When you (want to) merge items, you may want to use the merge.js gadget from help page about merging. It helps with merging and removes the need to file a request on Wikidata:Requests for deletions.

Both P81 and P1192[edit]

Hi, you are adding good faith edits on items such as Trinité – d'Estienne d'Orves (Q1316395) but it has side effects as for instance

North / westbound Trinité – d'Estienne d'Orves South / eastbound
Saint-Lazare
towards Mairie d'Issy
Paris Métro Line 12 Notre-Dame-de-Lorette
towards Mairie d'Aubervilliers

Hi, I see the result of your sample. But do you think the query is correct? There is a service from Trinité with Paris Métro Line 12 towards Notre-Dame-de-Lorette and a service from Trinité with Paris Métro Line 12 towards Saint-Lazare. I have just checked on [1]: there is service is in both directions. GodeNehler (talk) 13:59, 27 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, before your addition of P1192, only one line was correctly shown on the table. Since your addition, there is two lines because the lua code searches for both P1192 and P81 but cannot prioritize correctly between P1192 and P81. Other uses case correctly working can be seen at (in french) https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Utilisateur:Bouzinac/BrouillonLondres Bouzinac💬✒️💛 15:16, 27 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Bouzinac: There are two reason, why I added the service: On one hand I think it is correct to use service. Between two stations there might be only one line, but different services. The other reason: I have created a Query [2]. It is searching for lines and services, because sometimes are lines, sometimes services and sometimes both are used. Meanwhile this query get time out, because ist is too complex.
There is a lot of mixture between line and service: My understanding is that the line is the road track, and the service is traffic on the line. So most of the lines - like the 12 - are from my point of view services - or I am wrong?
Should I undo the service entries? --GodeNehler (talk) 15:35, 27 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Well, your comprehension of subtilities between P1192 and P81 are correct and shared by the community. I think it'd be easier to switch from P81 to P1192 but not both two, all the more if P1192=P81 (there are cases where P81 and P1192 are different and correct)
Here's another way to query Map of Tramways in Île-de-France (query) Bouzinac💬✒️💛 15:51, 27 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I have reverted my addings.--GodeNehler (talk) 08:20, 28 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks a lot. Do you think there would be any local wiki that would need automatic template as such
North / westbound Kennington tube station South / eastbound
Elephant & Castle tube station
towards Edgware tube station or High Barnet tube station or Mill Hill East tube station
via Bank and Monument stations
Northern line Oval tube station
towards Morden tube station
Waterloo tube station
towards Edgware tube station or Mill Hill East tube station or High Barnet tube station
via Charing Cross tube station
Northern line Nine Elms tube station
towards Battersea Power Station tube station

Call for participation in a task-based online experiment[edit]

Dear GodeNehler,

I hope you are doing good,

I am Kholoud, a researcher at King's College London, and I work on a project as part of my PhD research, in which I have developed a personalised recommender system that suggests Wikidata items for the editors based on their past edits. I am collaborating on this project with Elena Simperl and Miaojing Shi.

I am inviting you to a task-based study that will ask you to provide your judgments about the relevance of the items suggested by our system based on your previous edits.

Participation is completely voluntary, and your cooperation will enable us to evaluate the accuracy of the recommender system in suggesting relevant items to you. We will analyse the results anonymised, and they will be published to a research venue.

The study will start in late January 2022 or early February 2022, and it should take no more than 30 minutes.

If you agree to participate in this study, please either contact me at kholoud.alghamdi@kcl.ac.uk or use this form https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSees9WzFXR0Vl3mHLkZCaByeFHRrBy51kBca53euq9nt3XWog/viewform?usp=sf_link

I will contact you with the link to start the study.

For more information about the study, please read this post: https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/User:Kholoudsaa

In case you have further questions or require more information, don't hesitate to contact me through my mentioned email.

Thank you for considering taking part in this research.

Regards
