Duplicate items

[edit]

Dear Grolimur. How are you? I've noticed that between May 19 and 26 you have created a series of new items in Wikidata using QuickStatements. I believe you've done that using Zotero's Wikidata export translator. Thank you for your contributions!

However, I noticed that you created some duplicates in this process. For example, you created an item (Q106988025) for "Wikidata: a platform for your library’s linked open data" which already had an item (Q52824698), and another one (Q106987782) for "Scholia, Scientometrics and Wikidata", which already had an item as well (Q41799194). I have merged these two into their corresponding older item, but I see there may be others out there. For example, you also created an item (Q106987670) for "From Wikidata to Scholia: creating structured linked data to generate scholarly profiles" which seems to be a duplicate of Q50376976. I haven't merged these yet.

As stated in the Wikidata:Zotero page, it is very important to check if the works intended to be imported already exist in Wikidata before running this kind of batch operations using QuickStatements. Could you please check if you have created other duplicate items and merge them in that case? Thanks! --Diegodlh (talk) 22:20, 29 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Diegodlh,

Thank you for your message. Sorry for the creation of duplicates. I was learning how to use Zotero's Wikidata export translator and I made some mistakes. I'll check what duplicates I created and merge them. I'll also carefully read all the documentation to make as few new mistake as possible.

Best regards! (I post this here in case you follow this page.)

No worries, Grolimur! I'm also relatively new to this, and one learns as one goes. Good luck with your editing! --Diegodlh (talk) 13:19, 31 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
