Cycling

[edit]

Hi, do you plan to use datas from Wikidata on TR Wiki ? If it is the case, an adaptation of Module:Cycling race can be done. Jérémy-Günther-Heinz Jähnick (talk) 09:52, 5 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I continue the discussion on my talk page. Jérémy-Günther-Heinz Jähnick (talk) 11:25, 5 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, yes i plan to use wikidata, but i don't know where to start? I translated kits to Turkish on Module:Cycling race page, but i don't know how to move forward.Hobbit28 (talk) 10:27, 5 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Hobbit28:
  1. You have kits to translate here ✓ Done, here ✓ Done, here and here. The first step is done for 75 %. An user from Turkey is able to understand in his language and to work in his language, it is very important. Following these pages permits to add translations to new items if necessary.
  2. Translations can be made on this page and subpages, it permits to a person to understand the way to fill Wikidata. In case of doubt, a person can verify here, or ask a question. I do this documentation because I think we will have common infoboxes in the future.
  3. The third step consist by adding translation directly by modifying Module:Cycling race. It is the supermodule. You can proceed by copy/paste a language you have facilities and replace by turkish words. The module here is the code, on TR Wiki, you just have a copy.
  4. By keeping English name for the functions, you can create them on TR Wiki. A good documentation is a plus. But you can made link to Supertemplates description of property, and add here properties you wish a documentation page.
  5. Necessary, it will have bugs... you can contact the user Psemdel on the discussion page of the project. I am the guy who speak and make documentation, but I am not good in programming.
After these stages, the algorithm will be perfectly adapted to the turkish language, and you will can start to create articles on your language. On the module Cycling race, we have lists where you can find items for 2019 (even 2018) and 2020 races. Sometime we have on FR Wiki articles for each edition of a race. You already made the biggest part of the work. Jérémy-Günther-Heinz Jähnick (talk) 11:24, 5 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
PS : note a new type of infobox will arrive in the future (see here).
