Jaguar Cars[edit]

Hi JC Work, the company called Jaguar Cars (Q30055) ceased trading at the end of 2012, so they don't have websites or Twitter accounts - hence I removed your recent additions there. I imagine you confused them with Jaguar (Q26742231), the brand name that the cars continue to be sold under internationally. DeFacto (talk) 11:21, 3 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi DeFacto! Ah yes, that's correct, sorry about that! I actually meant to add the Twitter and websites to Jaguar Land Rover (Q6122893), but it seems that would also be incorrect?
If it's related to Jaguar cars specifically (and not including Land Rover (Q26777551) cars) then Jaguar (Q26742231) is the appropriate place, I'd say. DeFacto (talk) 17:58, 3 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! :)

Why in VLC media player (Q171477) you used applies to jurisdiction (P1001) instead of language of work or name (P407)? Special:Diff/710402664 --Valerio Bozzolan (talk) 09:24, 13 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi!

I used applies to jurisdiction (P1001) alongside language of work or name (P407), hopefully this is OK. If it is incorrect I can remove it! They do not seem to conflict with each other

To be honest... O:)... in the old revision Special:PermaLink/710402664 there were not language of work or name (P407) alongside applies to jurisdiction (P1001). Anyway, I still don't understand very well why P1001 should be suitable. In English its label is «applies to jurisdiction» and its description is «the item (an institution, law, public office ...) belongs to or has power over or applies to the value (a territorial jurisdiction: a country, state, municipality, ...)». Having said that, even if I'm not a lawyer, we should agree on the fact that it's very complicate to assign jurisdictions to a website. It's not a simple matter of which languages it is available. I think we should avoid this use of the P1001 property. --Valerio Bozzolan (talk)

Hi Valerio, I see what you are saying but it looks like applies to jurisdiction (P1001) is one of the allowed qualifiers on official website (P856), this can be found in the Constraints section near the bottom
