What genre are globes?

Hi,

With @Pierre Tribhou: we were wondering, what would be a good value for as genre (P136) for Globes by Vaugondy in Clermont-Ferrand (Q29127460) ? I was looking for other example but found none :( likewise, I didn't found a good item as value (maybe scientific object (Q30060700), but it's a Fractaler creation so it needs some rework to be really usable...). What do you think?

VIGNERON en résidence No idea, maybe applied art? How do museums and art historians classify these? Multichill (talk) 22:45, 8 November 2021 (UTC)

Your bot malfunctions

Hello Multichill, I just want to inform you that your bot hasn't updated the SOAP property statistics for the last three weeks: https://www.wikidata.org/w/index.php?title=Wikidata:WikiProject_sum_of_all_paintings/Property_statistics&action=history. It must be stuck for some reason. Thank you for looking into it! have a nice day or evening, --Edelseider (talk) 10:28, 25 October 2021 (UTC)

Yeah, some jerkish actions broke a bunch of bots and I didn't really have the time, energy and motivation to fix it. See phab:T280806. Multichill (talk) 22:48, 8 November 2021 (UTC)

Duplication (Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya)

Hi Multichill,

Back in 2016, there seems to have been some duplication between your bot and User:KRLS_Bot (who run earlier the same year). Compare:

It showed up for several works at Wikidata:WikiProject_sum_of_all_paintings/Creator/Ramon_Casas_i_Carbó in Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya (Q861252) and Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya (Q23681318).

It may be similar for other artists. --- Jura 14:28, 5 November 2021 (UTC)

As it's a bit oldish, I left a request at Wikidata:Bot_requests#request_to_merge_MNAC_dups._(2021-11-13). --- Jura 07:15, 13 November 2021 (UTC)
@Jura: Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya (Q23681318) is the source of the problem. Part of the collection was split out by. This is not in line with how we normally do it and the item doesn't have any sources to support it. Maybe it should just be merged into the main item. https://w.wiki/4P5f returns most of the duplicates. Multichill (talk) 17:49, 13 November 2021 (UTC)
Yeah, I notice that item, but I'm not sure what to make of it. Inventory numbers may be specific to the museum and not its modern art collection. Personally, I'd just merge the items as a first step. --- Jura 09:36, 14 November 2021 (UTC)
I merged the dups for another painter (Wikidata:WikiProject sum of all paintings/Creator/Santiago Rusiñol). The resulting items aren't really ideal: Q23934499. Merging Q23681318 into the museum would have krbot fix them. --- Jura 06:18, 17 November 2021 (UTC)
@Kippelboy: any thoughts on this? Looking at https://www.museunacional.cat/en/collections/modern-art and what I recall from visiting this museum, this is just a department or subcollection and not a collection (P195) as we normally model it here (the holder of the object that assigned the inventory number). items without claims: NoclaimsBot, suffixes and prefixes, frwiki full list, plwiki, true duplicates

Hi Multichill,

Just noticed that this bot is still active and frwiki linked pages could benefit from it. After updating the template list, I added the full list of items to Wikidata:Database_reports/without_claims_by_site/frwiki, hoping the bot can work through it in one go.

If you want to do prefixes, as well, I did a mapping like [1] for frwiki and enwiki. A few suffixes could work too.

Apparently "true duplicates", also a source of permanent items without claims, is being solved, see Wikidata:Report_a_technical_problem#quadruplicate.

plwiki might benefit from the bot too: Wikidata:Kafejka#items_without_claims_by_site. Not sure if it's Nickpolk's item creation or just a backlog that brought it to the top of the list. Maybe we can find sonene interested in configuring the template list. --- Jura 11:00, 29 November 2021 (UTC)

Seems to have worked.
BTW, I just noticed that PetScan can sort the output by number of incoming links (not limited to articles on the todo list, but still ..). I added queries at Wikidata talk:Database reports/without claims by site/frwiki#Liens. --- Jura 11:42, 30 November 2021 (UTC)
The link count on Petscan seems to not always work .. --- Jura 17:33, 30 November 2021 (UTC)
I gave it try for svwiki too: Wikidata:Bybrunnen#items_without_claims. --- Jura 17:33, 30 November 2021 (UTC)
