United States[edit]

Why did you remove Oceania?--Ymblanter (talk) 16:18, 5 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Is Hawaii the one you refer to Oceania? If yes, I will return it back.--Napoleon.tan 22:26, 5 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, Hawaii, and additionally Guam and North Mariana. Thanks.--Ymblanter (talk) 22:30, 5 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Geograhpical properties[edit]

Hello Napoleon, it has been decided on the Project Chat to use a generic "located in" property instead of more specific ones like "sub-prefecture". Accordingly, I replaced and deleted the "sub-prefecture" property. Best. --Zolo (talk) 14:02, 21 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the update, I guess prefecture property would also be deleted? Are all the value of Country:_subdivisions going to be deleted? --Napoleon.tan (talk) 14:09, 21 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Yes they sll should be replaced with Property:P131. --Zolo (talk) 14:14, 21 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I was just wondering how we're you able to search for all items that use sub prefecture? Do you have any custom tools? I tried to find one under wiki data tools but there was none. --Napoleon.tan (talk) 23:58, 26 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Not sure I understood your question correctly, but you can find all pages using any given property through its what links here. --Zolo (talk) 08:11, 27 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I get it now. Your suppose to place the namespace. I was trying to search the property by label but it only works for entity. --Napoleon.tan (talk) 12:44, 27 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

religion[edit]

Hello! Just to let you know I've added this property which you suggested P140. Danrok (talk) 23:37, 23 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks --Napoleon.tan (talk) 01:51, 24 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Property:P513 "birth name"[edit]

Hi,

The above property is now available and can be used on items. I noticed you participated in its discussion. --  Docu  at 18:22, 12 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks --Napoleon.tan (talk) 01:01, 13 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

voice actor (P725) has been created...[edit]

...and can be used now (as you're the property proposer). --Nightwish62 (talk) 18:49, 29 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Merging items[edit]

For merging items, you can try the following tool: Merge.js gadget. It makes it much easier to do, and easier for the admins to check and follow up your nominations. -Cycn (talk) 06:36, 25 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks this really help me do the merging easily. --Napoleon.tan (talk) 01:53, 26 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Population[edit]

Hi! You could enter ±0 to get rid of uncertainty. If you enter more than one value, please set the rank of the most recent value to preferred, like here Brobergen (Q159095). This should be stated in a central place too. The rank is for selecting the data to display, without laborious calculations. Help:Statements#Glossary of terms, m:Wikidata/Data model#Ranks of Statements --JulesWinnfield-hu (talk) 13:29, 13 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

thanks for the tip. Do you know of a way to use the wikidata population data in english wikipedia? How about the syntax? Also, I noticed that what you did as a source is you used the url directly. Is this ok instead of referring to a central item? --Napoleon.tan (talk) 13:56, 13 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
It is the stated way Help:Sources#Web page, but it has some drawbacks Help talk:Sources#Web sources referenced many times. I don't know how to use it on enwiki. Huwiki already use them, that's why the rank is important. --JulesWinnfield-hu (talk) 14:45, 13 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I saw the conversation and they said you can create item if you treat it as a report. i think a census is definitely a report. That would make it less tiring in adding population data. Actually, they are already doing it in Swedish and Canadian population, so I just did the Japan and Philippines population as is. I created an item for census (year) item. --Napoleon.tan (talk) 14:57, 13 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Napoleon.tan, could you help here? Regards--Oursana (talk) 23:28, 9 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

What to help about it? --Napoleon.tan (talk) 15:34, 11 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
If this is the same and what is the difference.--Oursana (talk) 15:00, 21 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
東京地方 Tokyo District (Q11524638) is used to define the "Tokyo Region". It has two meanings, Tokyo Region is the capital Tokyo Prefecture which consists of ward area of Tokyo (Q308891) (eastern side of tokyo), Western Tokyo (Q1323122) and the Tokyo Islands (Q1138596) (southern eastern outlying island - quite far). If used in the context of weather reporting, Tokyo District (Q11524638) excludes the Tokyo Islands (Q1138596).

I hope this answer your questions.

--Napoleon.tan (talk) 22:31, 21 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

please check, I think there is no contains the administrative territorial entity (P150), because Chūō is the lowest administrative unit, than we have to use has part(s) (P527), so we do see Altona (Q1630) --Oursana (talk) 15:08, 21 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I guess you are right. There is no administrative unit there only name of places / district. Probably has part(s) (P527) is ok. But I am not a Japanese to be sure of this. --Napoleon.tan (talk) 22:33, 21 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, I started a little. Perhaps one should list the wrong edits and organize a bot.--Oursana (talk) 15:37, 5 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
