[edit]Hello, I'm Eihel. One or more of your recent contributions to Q114390400 seemed to be a test and have been removed. Feel free to use the sandbox for test edits. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks! Eihel (talk) 23:31, 15 September 2023 (UTC)
- Hi Eihel. There are some things to fix concerning the items corresponding to the Donetsk People's Republic and Lugansk People's Republic, as well as other items related to them. Please allow me some time to complete my editing, and you will check that what I want to change is correct. I have to merge 2 items and neither will be empty. Thank you for your understanding. Greetings Nofsecas (talk) 23:36, 15 September 2023 (UTC)
- Your reasons given in the summary are completely off topic to what you are really doing. You write something about the polish description, while you eliminate the name "Ukraine" from every single description. What you are doing is in reality putting Russian imperialist propaganda in the descriptions, not the international law. Grüße vom Sänger ♫ (talk) 07:43, 23 September 2023 (UTC)
- Hi Sänger. I understand your concerns, but let me explain the reasons for my actions. If we talk about the Luhansk People's Republic we cannot simply say that the country is Ukraine, because the "Luhansk People's Republic" is a Russian federal subject resulting from Russian imperialism, and obviously Ukraine does not claim that this "People's Republic" is an Ukrainian region. There is no "People's Republic" among the administrative divisions of Ukraine. What we can say is that the territory claimed by the Luhansk People's Republic is internationally recognized as part of Ukraine. That is the statement that is in accordance with international law. We can also state that Russian federal subject called "Luhansk People's Republic" (and the "Donetsk People's Republic") are internationally unrecognized. We should be careful handling all this to avoid that the information contained in Wikidata ends up being a chaos.
- On the other hand, although my personal point of view should not have any importance here, I want to say that I am against the Russian aggression that this war represents, and that it is not true when you have said that I removed the word "Ukraine" from all descriptions. For example, the latest Russian-language description I added is "как субъект РФ с 2022, расположенный на территории Украины" (it means "a subject of the Russian federation since 2022, located on the territory of Ukraine"). I think it is an accurate description.
- I also referred to the description in Polish language. I added the following description: "jednostka administracyjna Rosji na terytorium Ukrainy od 2022 roku" (it means "administrative unit of Russia on the territory of Ukraine since 2022"). As you can see, the word "Ukraine" is there. However, you reverted some of my contributions, re-adding the Polish-language description "państwo nieuznawane na terytorium Ukrainy" (which means "unrecognized state on the territory of Ukraine"). That description is not accurate. It could be a valid description for item Q114334914, but not for item Q16150196.
- In any case, I will not directly revert your last changes, I will try to modify little by little the descriptions in the different languages trying to include the word "Ukraine" as long as my languages skills allow me to do so (the same could also be done in the Republic of Crimea item Q15966495), but please do not revert my contributions as I spend quite a lot of time working on it.
- Thank you for your understanding. Greetings. Nofsecas (talk) 00:35, 24 September 2023 (UTC)
- The main thing you did with your 3Kb deletion in the item was to remove the word "Ukraine" from many descriptions, in lots of languages. Your "reason" was something about the Polish description, but that was obviously just window dressing, as it was just a tiny, insignificant, part of your mass deletion of "Ukraine".
