Software[edit]

Just to let you know that all software, including video games must be set as entity type term, and not creative work. Danrok (talk) 20:37, 2 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Hm.. that couldn't be correct? "Term" is confusing, because it's not something like a "table" or "computer" or so. The (german) description of the item "work" is "geschützte oder eine schützbare Schöpfung im Sinne des Urheberrechts", what means every work (or similar), what is covered by copyright. (Btw: Even a game is creative work, strange classification..) So are you sure? Where could I read about how to classify an item?
Best regards, --#Reaper (talk) 21:38, 2 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It's just the low-level classification system used on wikidata. See here Infoboxes task force/terms, software products is mentioned in the yellow box. I questioned it myself a while back. Danrok (talk) 22:36, 2 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm.. I see, it was wrong to use the German GND as base. (That they make stu.. strange things.. I expected nothing else.. (Trust me, I'm from Germany.. :o )) It's completely illogical. (And I see no benefit in data processing.) Could you say me where to talk about this? (I never know where the correct place might be.) Or is this useless / won't help? Thank you. (Sorry for my bad english.) --#Reaper (talk) 23:00, 2 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
You could ask about it here Wikidata project chat or maybe ask User:Inkowik directly, he/she is German and an admin here. Danrok (talk) 00:40, 3 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

P107 unknown[edit]

You added to some software the Property:P107 with the value unknown in most cases the value Q386724 is the correct value I think. --Sk!d (talk) 00:05, 1 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Beste Grüße, --#Reaper (talk) 10:50, 1 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Distribution, media[edit]

Hey! I have realized that we can use the platform property as a qualifier for your property request, "distribution, media". For an example, we can set up 'distribution' = 'download' and, as a qualifier, 'platform' = 'Steam'. What do you think? — ΛΧΣ21 20:27, 18 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! The platform property was meant for "PC" or "Xbox"/"PS3" and similar. Or that was what I meant (at property proposal) what it should be, but I haven't realized the double-meaning (like for "Steam") till now. Hm.. good idea, but I'm not sure if we should mix these two meanings of platform there? On the other side properties should be general, so the actual meaning of platform is maybe already to specific.(?) I think we should move this discussion, maybe to the platform property. (There is still another problem with platform vs. operating system, but this should be cleared after this discussion, I think.)
Greets, --#Reaper (talk) 20:52, 18 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I think that I also failed to see how far we can use this property, and I think that "platform for which a software has been developed or released" includes all types of distribution platforms (because they fall in the latter) and is not bound to software or hardware (it can be both used to add "Microsoft Windows" or "iPad" as values). I agree on moving this discussion to the property's talk page. Cheers! — ΛΧΣ21 21:39, 18 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I have created the 'distribution' property: Property:P437. — ΛΧΣ21 01:49, 19 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Hi. Sry, I'm currently a bit out of workflow. I'll look after this again later this week, sorry. And first I would like to clear this "problem": Operating System vs Platform. Have you already moved this discussion somewhere? Otherwise we should or could move it to your video game task force, too (even if it's not 100 percent the correct place for this). And: Thx for the property. Greetings, --#Reaper (talk) 21:56, 21 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

RfA[edit]

Hey Reaper. I have been scanning your contributions, and I find that you are a good candidate for adminship. You have done a great amount of work on this project, and I believe that the tools will come in handy to you. Would you be willing to accept a nomination from me? :) — ΛΧΣ21 02:11, 19 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Hahc! Sorry that I let you wait for my answer.
I'm very glad (and also a bit proud ;) ) that you want to nominate me for that. :) (Although that others do more then me..) But I'm also a little bit unsure. I'm actually - and I think this wouln't change in the next week or maybe months.. - a little stressed, thats why I can't read many discussions here in Wikidata. So my question: Are there duties which a admin has to do for being admin? Or wouldn't it be that bad if I couldn't do much admin work for now? If it would be ok that I do more or less the same as (I actually could do) now, I would be really pleased/delight? if you nominate me. :-)
--#Reaper (talk) 21:29, 20 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I'm confused. When you say you "can't read many discussions here in Wikidata", what are you referring to? Notwithstanding, I have taken a closer look and I believe that you could do a great candidate :) Being an admin has many duties, but you are not mandatorily bound to do them if you can't although it will always be good to have some additional pair of hands :) — ΛΧΣ21 22:11, 20 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I mean discussion pages like the project chat, Wikidata:Notability or similar, where I actually don't know what they are doing / talking about there. So I'm not really informed, that would be bad for an admin, as I think. :-S Because of the duties: The only reason why I asked was, that I actually don't need the "force" to do something in time. Um, in short: If you don't think so, you could nominate me if you still like. :) --#Reaper (talk) 23:19, 20 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Well. I still think you sould do a great job, but if you feel you need to wait and get more into those discussions and understand better what's going on there, I will uderstand, and I'd gladly myself help you get into the swing of things :) — ΛΧΣ21 00:09, 21 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Hi there. Nyes, I would like to catch up on these thinks first, I think this would be better. :) (And as you see, I stall it a little bit. ;) ) I will get in touch to you for this next weekend, I hope I get along until then. Best greetings :) --#Reaper (talk) 22:09, 21 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
After thinking a long time if I could and should do this, I came to the conclusion that I really want to try it. I would be really glad if you would nominate me for that. :-) Thank you very much in advance! =) --#Reaper (talk) 17:30, 28 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Yay! I will prepare the RfA page as soon as possible :) Sorry for not answering the previous message; I was somewhat busy. — ΛΧΣ21 23:47, 28 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Congratulations, Dear Administrator![edit]

English | español | français | Nederlands | русский | +/−

An offering for our new administrator from your comrades... (our gift is better than the one at Commons or Meta)

Reaper35, congratulations! You now have the rights of administrator on Wikidata. Please take a moment to read the Wikidata:Administrators page and watchlist related pages (in particular Wikidata:Project chat and Wikidata:Administrators' noticeboard), before launching yourself into page deletions, page protections, account blockings, or modifications of protected pages.

Please feel free to join us on IRC: #wikidata-admin @ irc.freenode.net. If you need access, you can flag someone down at #wikimedia-wikidata @ irc.freenode.net. You may find Commons:Guide to adminship to be useful reading although it doesn't always completely apply here at Wikidata.

Please also add/update the languages you speak to your listing at Wikidata:List of administrators. Again, welcome!

Thank you very much! =) I'm very glad and happy. :) (And I hope that I don't accidentally click one of those new buttons. ;) ) I'll learn the rules and guidelines by heart. And thank you for the cake. ;)
Very best greetings, --#Reaper (talk) 19:25, 6 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Contgratulations!!! Yay welcome to the club! It was a pleasure to nominate you, and I'm very happy that you succeeded :) If you ever need something, you know where is my talk page. I'll keep in touch though ;) — ΛΧΣ21 01:54, 7 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Beste Grüße, --#Reaper (talk) 20:30, 14 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Examples needed[edit]

Hi! Could you add some examples to your property proposal about DRM? Thanks!--Micru (talk) 13:04, 16 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Bot job request[edit]

Sorry, I don't have time to accomplish the task. Try here or ask User:Legobot directly. --Kizar (talk) 15:35, 3 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Inactivity[edit]

Hello. I'm sending you this message, because in the near future you may possibly fall under Wikidata's policy for inactivity at Wikidata:Administrators. Per policy:

Administrator access is removed from accounts which have been inactive for six months. Inactivity is defined as less than ten administrator/bureaucrat actions over this six month period. This became policy on 23 July 2013, with that policy applying retroactively to any account with administrative access at the time. Admin accounts are checked for inactivity on the first day of each month. There is currently no reprieve system in place.

Regards, — Moe Epsilon 13:46, 4 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

@Moe Epsilon Uum.. really? Damn.. I'm sorry. :(
I though I was a bit more active.. I've been a bit more active the last week, I hope I could be more active in future. (What a shame..) Best regards, --#Reaper (talk) 15:27, 4 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Reaper, you need to be active with the sysop tools to keep them, not just editing. You can go to WD:RFD, handle some deletions, and the you're good to go :) — ΛΧΣ21 23:23, 4 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Um, yea.. I think I've to do what you say, but I don't like these "assembly line jobs". ;) (Or I could block some misleading IPs.. ;-) ) Normally I control for vandalism in my watchlist (2k entries) and delete empty and forgotten items. But I wasn't active the last month, thats bad, I feel sorry. :( Best greetings, --#Reaper (talk) 22:54, 5 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I wouldn't like to have my only nom desysopped :( I'd prefer if you do a couple of admin actions, since you are actively editing anyway :P — ΛΧΣ21 12:34, 7 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I am not sure what you mean, Moe Epsilon and Hahc21. Looking at the logs it seems like Reaper35 does not fall out of our activity requirements and also won't before March 2014 (which is in 4 months) … Vogone talk 16:58, 17 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Notice of removal of adminship[edit]

Hello,

As Jasper Deng seems to have forgotten it last month, I hereby regretfully inform you that, in accordance with Wikidata:Administrators#Losing adminship and as a result of your inactivity, administrator rights have been removed from your account. Please see Wikidata:Requests for comment/Defining inactivity for details. Kind regards, Vogone (talk) 00:20, 1 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Vogone. If noticed my adminremoval already one day later. I just haven't noticed that I haven't done any admin actions since months. At least I noticed that there isn't much to do for me as admin anymore since duplicated items won't be deleted any longer. So the only things I miss is the ability to watch how many users have an item on their watchlist (I'm just too curious ;) ), see deleted items and of course the one-click revert. At least: Should the items I deleted be undeleted (because of the version history)?
Thank you anyway. Best regards, --#Reaper (talk) 13:46, 1 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
