maxlag[edit]

Hi! I was looking at this bot's recent contributions, and I noticed that it was editing at about 5 edits per minute in a period where the lag was well over five, peaking at over twenty. Are you using the maxlag parameter on this bot? (See also Wikidata:Administrators'_noticeboard#WDQS_lag_is_terrible_(over_9_hours_now).) Cheers, Bovlb (talk) 21:23, 10 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Bovlb: Thank you for your warning. Yes, I had increased the maxlag parameter for these editions, but this is because they were semiautomatic (I supervised or confirmed case by case). I wasn't aware of the post you linked, I deduced there was lag after a few hours trying to find why PyWikiBot didn't work (I hadn't used it for a long time, and it was a new installation). I found a task in Phabricator (https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T221774) where they comment about the lag issues. I just increased the maxlag for this semiautomatic script.SalviBot (talk) 13:49, 11 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I note that mw:Manual:Maxlag parameter says Interactive tasks (where a user is waiting for the result) may omit the maxlag parameter.. Bovlb (talk) 14:47, 11 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
