Duplicate scholarly articles[edit]

Hi - I've been going through User:Ivan A. Krestinin's list of likely duplicate scholarly articles, and have noticed that a large number of the recently created duplicates seem to have been added by you. For example The Protective Effects of 2,3,5,4'-Tetrahydroxystilbene-2--β-d-Glucoside in the OVA-Induced Asthma Mice Model (Q108594877), Calretinin Functions in Malignant Mesothelioma Cells Cannot Be Replaced by the Closely Related Ca-Binding Proteins Calbindin-D28k and Parvalbumin (Q108594874), iTRAQ-Based Quantitative Proteomic Analysis of Embryogenic and Non-embryogenic Calli Derived from a Maize ( L.) Inbred Line Y423 (Q108594889) etc. I don't know if you are still creating these, but please do a more thorough check for duplication before adding items in future! Merging after the fact unfortunately often requires manual effort. It's possible one of the issues causing trouble here is the case-insensitivity of DOI's - we generally upper-case DOI's in Wikidata to minimize the problem, but that means you have to upper-case the DOI's you are checking before comparing with what is already here. Hi -- thanks for letting me know, and apologies for these duplicates. I am no longer creating those, and can pitch in to clean up those duplicates. It's good to learn about the DOI case-insensitivity issue! Sandbergja (talk) 14:38, 30 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, glad to know the problem is being addressed! I'm about half-way through Ivan's list, so if you want to work from that you could start at the bottom... Or you may have your own list you want to go by. ArthurPSmith (talk) 18:36, 2 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Q107295785 does not contain enough information to distinguish this concept[edit]

Hi, could you add a linked location or something to the description for Oxford Press (Q107295785) as there are many Oxfords in the world and the description does not specify which Oxford is being referenced. For example Oxford, Ohio has an Oxford press... https://en.wikivoyage.org/wiki/Oxford_(Ohio) Wolfgang8741 (talk) 20:10, 25 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Added. Thanks for bringing this to my attention! Sandbergja (talk) 14:54, 26 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect main subject[edit]

Hi @Sandbergja, I was doing a query for publications about taxonomists and discovered a number of articles supposedly about Ignatz Urban (Q64845) that aren't, see query https://w.wiki/6TFt. I think you have added the main subject (P921) for a number of these. I'm guessing that "Ignatz Urban" may have been confused with "urban"?. Rdmpage (talk) 19:04, 17 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
