Quickstatements Woes :-)[edit]

I just read your page https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:WikiProject_PCC_Wikidata_Pilot/UNLV/QuickStatements which sounds sooooo familiar! I may be able to resolve your issue with en:"Robert K. Bunker oral history interview" Try wrapping it this way instead and see if it works: "en:""Robert K. Bunker oral history interview"""

I am wondering if you have come across ways to generate appropriate formatting when creating qs-compatible command lines from csv files. I am trying to generate citation information describing journal articles, and am having trouble with the qualifiers for the authors. I can set it up so that the lines work if I hand-code the formatting before feeding it to quickstatements, cf. "Diana H. Wall, ESA President 1999‐2000" (Q61459785) but I can't get the csv to save automatically in a qs-friendly format. I've been trying to use the tool https://ash-django.toolforge.org/csv2qs/#results which works for simpler commands but chokes if I try to qualify the author (P50) with the original namestring (qal1932) or the ordinal (qal1545). Have you been able to do something similar? Would love to hear, Mary Mark Ockerbloom (talk) 00:05, 25 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Turns out there was a bug in the tool, which they've just fixed :-) 100.34.132.84 03:46, 2 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent merge of Q67215036 and Q122418453[edit]

I think there is a problem with this. I suspect the problem might result from this edit, https://www.wikidata.org/w/index.php?title=Q67215036&oldid=1150242709 where the only identifier was the problematic Semantic Scholar author ID of https://www.semanticscholar.org/author/-/47362680 . You later deleted the Semantic Author ID (which we might agree is a really bad identifier.) Anyway, if you look at the articles that the Peter Ray had prior to Cebraj's April 4, 2020‎ edit, you'll see that there was nothing to indicate that cebraj's edit was legit and thus your addition of all that info from the Stanford Peter Ray certainly belonged on the Q122418453 item rather than Q67215036. If you want to try to clean this up, I'd appreciate the effort. If you don't, I can try. Thank you for doing good work here; I don't see this as originally your error, but a result of likely incorrect info added by cebraj a long time ago.

Thoughts? Trilotat (talk) 23:40, 6 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Disregard. I will create a new Peter J. Ray and link the articles that they are credited with. Trilotat (talk) 00:07, 7 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Trilotat I appreciate you letting me know, I didn't look at the history closely enough. Apologies for contributing to the mess, and thanks for the cleanup. Skvader (talk) 14:24, 7 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
NP and it wasn’t that bad. Sorry to make a fuss. Trilotat (talk) 00:56, 9 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
