Help with new Main page display and testing[edit]

Hi there,

Lydia suggested I get in touch with you because you helped design the current Main page. As you may already know, I've recently been working on an update to the Main page; I am hoping to launch this page in the next two weeks, but am unsure how to best handle display on different screen resolutions, as well as to optimize the page layout for a more responsive design. Do you have any tips or suggestions on this or would be able to assist with this task? Your help is very much appreciated. Cheers, -Thepwnco (talk) 18:58, 13 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Thiemo,

Thanks for the update. Please see Topic:Sujirpuc74j12u07 re desired references. --- Jura 10:47, 18 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Documentation of {{#statements}}[edit]

Hi. Last December there was the announcement about {{#statements}}. Do you know if there has been the development of documentation as was discussed on the phabricator ticket? the only stauff that I can find is what was put up by you at the labs site. Searching for "statements" with or without a leading # is pretty useless onwiki. Thanks for any leads.  — billinghurst sDrewth 14:23, 18 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

There is still no "official" documentation. Sorry for that. Everything you can find about #property also applies to #statements. We would love to encourage people to not use #property any more. --Thiemo Mättig (WMDE) 11:16, 20 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I don't see how I can use it to pull an interwiki link. Plus if I use it to pull an image, how would I size the image? Thanks.  — billinghurst sDrewth 14:13, 20 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Sitelinks are not statements and can not be requested with these two functions. You need Lua for this. Being able to scale images is a feature that's currently missing. We plan to continue working on this, but we can not promise when this will happen. Volunteer patches are very welcome. --Thiemo Mättig (WMDE) 14:18, 20 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
kk I am Lua illiterate (and probably stubbornly so), and the existing renditions of Module:Wikidata aren't set to pull a wikilink through arbitrary access. As I am looking for badge data too, I will follow a phabricator ticket path as Lydia said I should do for badges. Thanks.  — billinghurst sDrewth 01:13, 21 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
