Business division on Organization

[edit]

Hi Yaron, I noticed your revert on my statement here: https://www.wikidata.org/w/index.php?title=Q43229&oldid=prev&diff=1258250784

Can you explain why you think "business division" is not a property of "organization" and give references? My reference is here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Division_(business)

Thanks in advance -- Thadguidry (talk) 17:02, 16 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about that. You're right that organizations can have divisions, but the "business division" property is currently rarely used for "organization" instances - out of about 50,000 instances of "organization", only six have a "business division" value, according to this query. Maybe people are using the "has part" or "subsidiary" properties (both much more widely used for organizations) to mean the same thing, perhaps because the word "business" there throws people off - I don't know. But if you still disagree with my logic, let me know and I'll revert myself. Yaron Koren (talk) 17:55, 16 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
