Lua errors in Khowar Wikipedia Wp/khw

Dear sirs and madams, We are working in khowar Wikipedia incubator project from Pakistan. Can anybody help us to fix the lua errors here [please fix this lua error [1] thanks --Rachitrali (talk) 04:35, 1 October 2018 (UTC)

Some annoying little bugs

  • When you click "Edit" in the "Other sites" box, focus is not set to the input field. You have to click in it to type "Commons". Tab is not working either. By the way, since no other site is available in this is box, and will not be in the next years (if I'm not wrong), "Commons" should be filled in by default or at least suggested when you click in the input field.
  • When you add or modify a date statement, drop down list for precision is not translated (when loggued in French at least).
  • Sometime items take many time to load (and don't fully load when opening tab in the background) and if you click too soon on "edit" for the labels, alias and description box, you arrive on https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Special:SetLabelDescriptionAliases/QXXX which is really annoying. Would it be possible to grey out or hide this edit link until the item is fully load?

Thanks in advance. — Ayack (talk) 09:13, 5 September 2018 (UTC)

There are other sites available in the "Other sites" section: Wikispecies, MetaWiki, MediaWiki and Wikidata itself. - Nikki (talk) 10:11, 5 September 2018 (UTC)
Ok, my bad, I've never seen them on an item. — Ayack (talk) 10:19, 5 September 2018 (UTC)
  • Another one: when you paste the name of an image with the "File:" prefix and click on publish, you've got an error message and then you can't correct the name of the file, you have to click on "cancel" and add the full statement again. — Ayack (talk) 17:00, 5 September 2018 (UTC)

What's the purpose of this page if nobody from the dev team takes the time to reply to messages before they got archived? — Ayack (talk) 13:58, 10 October 2018 (UTC)

Hey Ayack. It's much easier to handle these things if we don't have to handle 5 different topics in one :)
As for the translation issue: That's phabricator:T170424. I've bumped it up now.
About the edit links leading you to the special page: We've currently working on that part of the interface and I'll see if that'll solve it. --Lydia Pintscher (WMDE) (talk) 15:04, 13 October 2018 (UTC)

Can a language in Wikimedia incubator test get wikidata code,?

Can language code [mni] of Meetei(meitei)language will be able to get Wikidata code. Awangba Mangang (talk) 16:32, 20 September 2018 (UTC)

@Awangba Mangang: Really, you are not the only one who wanna see Wikidata support on the loveland Wikimedia Incubator, I'm campaigning the benefit to have that in all Wikimedia wikis, but it seems that currently peoples e.g. @ChristianKl, Jheald: don't agree it (cried to ask: Why???) --Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 10:57, 29 September 2018 (UTC)
We're currently looking into it for oldwikisource. If it works there we can probably also make it work for incubator. --Lydia Pintscher (WMDE) (talk) 15:06, 13 October 2018 (UTC)

Filter full-text search results based on the entity's types

Hello,

I frequently use the wbsearchentities API endpoint to make full-text searches on Wikidata. However, I would like to filter the search results based on the entity's types.

For example, I would like to search for humans (Q5) matching the query "Taylor Swift" in order to find Q26876. Or, search for an album (Q482994) matching the query "Taylor Swift" in order to find her eponymous album Q845783.

I skimmed through Phabricator but I wasn't able to see whether this use-case was already considered somewhere.

Do you think this feature could be considered for short-, medium- or even long term?  – The preceding unsigned comment was added by Richard-Degenne (talk • contribs).

I don't know about wbsearchentities, but it's now possible to use some statements in the standard MediaWiki search using haswbstatement (e.g. "haswbstatement:P31=Q5" for instance of human), so perhaps the API equivalent of this would be an option? - Nikki (talk) 14:58, 10 October 2018 (UTC)
Hmm, yes, that would be very useful. I can't see any documentation about this "API equivalent", though. Can you point me in the right direction? - Richard-Degenne 15:10, 10 October 2018 (UTC)

sr-cyrl and sr-latn

Those language codes are present in jQuery ui but are incorrect from wikidata api point of view. Please, fix it. -- VlSergey (трёп) 12:01, 14 October 2018 (UTC)

References at protected items

Hi! It's not possible to have a look at the references if an item is fully protected (at the moment e.g. species nova (Q27652812) or Myrmoteras mcarthuri (Q13871073)). I think this should be possible otherwise it's not possible to discuss issues that let to the items protection. Regards --Succu (talk) 18:52, 17 October 2018 (UTC)

Thx, but this is true for logged-in users too. --Succu (talk) 19:03, 17 October 2018 (UTC)

Can't edit "Other sites"

Hi,

it seems to be impossible currently to edit "Other Sites" links. This affects the possibility to link Commons pages to pages in other projects. Any advice?

Cheers --MB-one (talk) 09:39, 27 October 2018 (UTC)

Same problem: I cannot add Commons in "Other sites"

For about an hour, when I try to edit "Other sites" (within the "Item" page) without entries, it doesn't appear items (then the box has low high). Then I don't add a Commons entry.

Otherwise:

  1. I think it would be advisable to add a specific entry for Commons (as Wiktionary or Wikibooks).
  1. Also when anybody adds a "Commons category" statement, always on paste (from the clipboard) the entry then the "Category:" fragment should be automatically deleted.

  •  Comment Also when using "Add links" I find "Either provide the Item "ids" or pairs of "sites" and "titles" for corresponding page"
Sorry about that, folks. We're looking into it and will try to fix it asap. --Lydia Pintscher (WMDE) (talk) 14:26, 27 October 2018 (UTC)
This is fixed now. --Lydia Pintscher (WMDE) (talk) 16:29, 27 October 2018 (UTC)

LDF client reliability

How experimental is http://ldfclient.wmflabs.org/#datasources=https%3A%2F%2Fquery.wikidata.org%2Fbigdata%2Fldf ? It seems an interesting alternative to the query service for lenghty queries, unfortunately it seems to silently fail to get all result and stop for unknown reason while the process is not finished (if I’m right). Is it why you don’t really advertise this endpoint ? author  TomT0m / talk page 16:23, 31 October 2018 (UTC)

It should work but it isn't getting that much feedback. So if you use it and run into issues please do report them (on phabricator ideally) so they can be fixed. --Lydia Pintscher (WMDE) (talk) 17:22, 31 October 2018 (UTC)
