Welcome to Mapping Nigeria's Financial Institutions on wikidata Project

Mapping Nigeria's Financial Institutions on wikidata Project is one of Ig-WIkidata-Hub drives to improve Nigerian contents and increase Wikidata's participation in our community. The Nigeria's Financial Institutions is regulated by the Central bank of Nigeria and as such, the project focuses on adding only the financial institutions that are listed on the CBN official website

Goals

• Make Wikidata a relevant data repository for Nigeria's Financial Institutions, with rich, accurate, and very well referenced data, starting first by covering all of Nigeria's Commercial Banks, Finance Companies (FCs), and finally by adding most Development Finance Institutions (DFI's) in Nigeria, and Finance Companies (FCs) in Nigeria.
• Ensure data quality to enable reuse. This incudes the accuracy of the data itself, the reference(s) to where it was sourced from, and the technical standard under which the data were produced.
• Wikidata is already used "live" in several wikipedias making integrity paramount:
  • French Infobox Company already uses Wikidata for all items
  • Czech Infobox Company already uses Wikidata for most of items
  • Catalan already uses Wikidata for all items
  • Norwegian bokmål Infobox Company already uses Wikidata for all items
