Mismatch Finder
Tackling mismatching data between Wikidata and external databases.
We developed the minimum viable product that will include what we identified during the interviews and discovery phase as the most important features for the tool to work. Later on, more features may be added.
Timeline and updates
- November 2023 - Collaboration with Purdue students to find new Mismatches for the Mismatch Finder, and ask the community to help to suggest external datasets!
- November 2023 - Ability to report mismatches on Qualifiers
- December 2022 - Added the ability to upload mismatches with empty Wikidata values so the Mismatch Finder can be used for suggesting new statements
- October 2022 - Added the ability to retrieve a random subset of mismatches
- May 2022 - Collecting useful feedback and will work to address the most important pieces of it. The biggest piece to be addressed: making it possible to get mismatches to review. We'll likely start addressing this with a random mismatch button. (phab:T302289)
- April 2022 - Got the first two batches of mismatches for English Wikipedia and MiscBrainz
- March 2022 - Working with reusers to get mismatches
- February 2022 - Community announcement of the Mismatch Finder
- January 2022 - Deployed minimum viable product
- June 2021 - Informed community about the start of development of new tool
- June 2021 - Finalized the concepts to begin design of prototypes
- May 2021 - End of product discovery
- April 2021 - Gathered feedback from the usability testing
