Each item about a calendar day (at least since the advent of photography) should have a image (P18), relating to that day's events.

Among other things, these are used on the Wikimedia Commons category page for the day through Template:Wikidata Infobox (Q47517487)

How you can help

[edit]

Please avoid generic images, which could have been taken on any day, unless they depict a dated object.

Include a media legend (P2096) qualifier (in any language you can), and make sure that mentions the date.

Examples

[edit]

Here are some examples of good practice, and some tips:

foundation stone for Moseley Road Methodist Church, Birmingham, England, laid on 12 November 1949
Scapino Ballet left Schiphol Airport for New York on 17 December 1963 to perform there
demonstration, on 4 January 2022, of Tibetans and Uyghurs in front of the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin against the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing
Good = An event (sorts, demonstrations, coronation); dated inscription (e.g. on a foundation stone); newspaper front page
Bad = Generic street scene, scenic view, flower
