Motivation[edit]
An already very detailed and potentially one of the most complete international bibliography source, Bookogs is a side database of Discogs (Q504063) for collecting data on books and magazines in all world's languages (as releases; see About Bookogs and en.Wikipedia). It is community-built and is currently quite active rather than quite full (monthly stats are tracked in this forum topic). The entry types in the database are Credit, Work and Book (with unique numeric IDs). Credit is for persons / companies (authors, artists, publishers, see examples 1 & 2) AND subjects (anything a book is about, see examples 3—5), so the same Credit ID may represent a person being an author of books and a subject of research books at the same time (while the ability to filter related books by role, whether it is author or subject, is expected to be available in the future but not present at the moment). The website is currently ad-free and has no commercial use. Some links to Bookogs IDs exist on Wikidata with the use of described at URL (P973) but there are not many so far.
Their (Discogs's) other databases, Comicogs (Q65553826), Filmogs (Q65553795), Gearogs (Q65553812), would also make reasonable ID additions. — 188.123.231.0 15:15, 7 May 2020 (UTC)
