- Motivation
This property will be used with the also proposed property: Habitat, to describe where organisms live. I will add the hosts for the 120 reference organisms that were created by Putmantime, using the IMG data warehouse as a reference.
Existing similar properties:
has natural reservoir (P1605), natural reservoir of (P1606) These properties specifically refer to the long-term host of a pathogen of an infectious disease (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Natural_reservoir). Extended from the previous example (Habitat): Francisella tularensis (Q1003460) -> has natural reservoir (P1605) -> Culicidae (Q7367)
Alternatively, P1605 and P1606 could be modified to make them more general (they were created over two years ago and currently only link to 5 items) and used in place of a "host" property.

- Discussion
- Support either approach, and I don't have a strong opinion on which is better. Thryduulf (talk) 21:44, 11 July 2016 (UTC)
- Support this would definitely improve host associated information, as Thryduulf mentioned modifying P1605 and P1606 and make it more generic thus becoming similar to these properties is fine too. --jjkoehorst (talk) 04:14, 12 July 2016 (UTC)
- Support A property which seems to be required in order to describe host-pathogen or host-commensal interactions. Sebotic (talk) 09:01, 12 July 2016 (UTC)
- Support Very important property that has a wider scope than the existing Natural_reservoir 137.131.57.86 15:36, 12 July 2016 (UTC)
