Motivation[edit]
Alexa.com will be retired by 1 May 2022. See Alexa end of Service Notice. I suggest that the Alexa ranking (Alexa rank (P1661)) should be replaced by some new property. It may for example be based on Similarweb worldwide traffic rankings, or free copies of that database (such as https://en.freedownloadmanager.org/Windows-PC/SimilarWeb-Site-Traffic-Sources-and-Ra-FREE.html). There are also other competitors to Alexa that may be of interest. An option would be to create a generic "Popularity rank" or "Web site traffic rank" property, or redefine the existing ranking (P1352) ranking property, by using a qualifier that refers to the ranking organization or competition (for example Similarweb (Q17538813)). A point-in-time point in time (P585)) and a source should be provided. This resembles quality ratings/scores such as rating (P4271). I don't have access to a bot that can carry out the actual import.
