- Motivation
TADIG codes are used in the mobile telecommunications industry for identifying network operators. For example in roaming call data record exchange files, fraud detection record files and even in end user tariff lists (e.g. google for tadig code). Thus, they have a similar usage as mobile country/mobile network codes (MCC+MNC) which are already present in Wikidata as properties. The main difference is that MCC/MNC are specified by the ITU, where TADIG codes are specified by the GSM Association (GSMA). Also, TADIG codes are alphanumerical, where MCC/MNC are numerical. - Comment Could you provide a link to an online database for this property? It would be great to have a formatter url which we would use to enhance the value with a link to the database entry. -- T.seppelt (talk) 15:36, 22 June 2016 (UTC)
- The situation is similar to what we have with mobile country/network codes (MCC/MNC). That means there is no canonical online database for those codes. There are sources scattered around that you can find via google, i.e. lists in Excel/Word/PDF documents. --Gms (talk) 08:22, 23 June 2016 (UTC)
- Comment @Gms: Please provide items for your examples, to show how they would be used. (Datatype changed to "external-id".) Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 11:10, 4 July 2016 (UTC)
- @Pigsonthewing: I've added an item for each example. Note that those items also have a mobile country code (MCC) and mobile network code (MNC) associated. --Gms (talk) 19:50, 5 July 2016 (UTC)
