- Motivation
The structure of the data and the motivation for the property are very similar to those for Wikidata:Property proposal/WFD Ecological status. As with Ecological status this information (data from 2010) is already in use for lakes on sv.wp (see e.g. infobox in w:sv:Orlången) but new official data from 2016 is now available (for all EU countries). It is therefore an excellent opportunity to ensure Wikidata gets used now that this data has to be updated anyway.
If approved the data for 2016 would be imported for all Swedish lakes. More details can be found in Wikidata:Requests_for_permissions/Bot/AndreCostaWMSE-bot_3 /André Costa (WMSE) (talk) 14:49, 27 June 2017 (UTC)
- Discussion
- Is the Water Framework directive something specific to Finland or is it something more generel? ChristianKl (talk) 14:57, 27 June 2017 (UTC)
- @ChristianKl: Water Framework Directive (Q1508115) applies to all EU countries. A few more countries are (or were) also reporting data to European Environment Agency (Q632988) using the same schema. /André Costa (WMSE) (talk) 15:07, 27 June 2017 (UTC)
- If other countries use the same schema, can we broaden the description of this property in a way that includes them as well? ChristianKl (talk) 15:14, 27 June 2017 (UTC)
- @ChristianKl: There shouldn't be anything in the description that limits it to Finland. The Finnish data link is only added as a source example. /André Costa (WMSE) (talk) 15:31, 27 June 2017 (UTC)
