Descriptionthe item is administrated by the following administrative entity.
Data typeItem
Domaingeographical feature (Q618123)
Example 1West Kowloon Station Mainland Port Area (Q48928408)Shenzhen (Q15174)
Example 2Tomb of Suleyman Shah (Q7818644)Turkey (Q43) (INVALID, see discussion below)
Example 3Canadian National Vimy Memorial (Q2561040)Canada (Q16)

Motivation[edit]

Some people misunderstand the definition of located in the administrative territorial entity (P131). The present "protected" version of West Kowloon Station Mainland Port Area (Q48928408) is swearing black is white.

The description of location (P276) stated that: "In case of an administrative entity use P131". It is clear that the Mainland Port Area is an administrative entity, and it is a common knowledge that the Mainland Port Area is located in the Hong Kong SAR.

With reference to previous discussion in project chat, create a new property is the solution. 210.3.92.226 04:55, 30 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion[edit]

The High Court of Hong Kong has made a judgement on 13 December 2018. According to paragraph 64 of the Judgement, Judge Anderson Chow said:

It is not in dispute that the Mainland Port Area falls with the territory of Hong Kong under the “Order of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China No 221” dated 1 July 1997, which was promulgated in accordance with the “Decision of the National People’s Congress on the Establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region” adopted at the Third Session of the Seventh National People’s Congress on 4 April 1990.

It still has disputes, at least on the definition of "Hong Kong", afaik at least Swahili language version says that Hong Kong is just only a Peninsula of Zhujiangkou. --125.38.13.94 01:24, 9 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose Per Liuxinyu970226, better to split Hong Kong (Q8646) as a geographical concept one, and a SAR one, just like that we do have at least two items for Amsterdam, one for the geographical city and another one for the municipality government. --125.36.185.115 03:10, 25 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose For Tomb of Suleyman Shah (Q7818644), it must be noted that in OpenStreetMap, there even has a boundary line around the tomb, so it must be called P17 Turkey, and create a separate P131 value called "Turkish part of Aleppo Governorate". Thus I've done here. The Canadian National Vimy Memorial (Q2561040) might have same problem, but I serve this question to the Canadian peoples. --125.38.13.94 05:48, 4 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Oppose I think applies to jurisdiction (P1001) would be fine for this? --GPSLeo (talk) 13:53, 7 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Comment Is this for areas that are actually administrated by one administration, but located within the territory of another? I don't think we have a property for this yet. Enclave/exclave doesn't seem to apply as they are part of the territory of the administration administrating them.
Whatever the approach chosen, the mentioned HK area seems to have or have had a dispute about the status as well. --- Jura 17:04, 7 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
