Discussion

•  Support Chronological designation is also an important property in serials cataloging, where we state the numeric or alphanumeric designation of the earliest part along with its chronological designation, and, for ceased serials, also the numeric/alphanumeric designation and chronological designation of the last part. This data is recorded in MARC 21 bibliographic field 362 (https://www.loc.gov/marc/bibliographic/bd362.html). An example of a serial that ceased after only 3 issues: Vol. 1, no. 1 (Apr. 1983)-v. 1, no. 3 (June 1983). The chronological designations associated with the volume numbering is enclosed in parentheses in MARC records. AdamSeattle (talk) 21:23, 12 September 2023 (UTC)
•  Comment I think the third example needs to be a specific example of what would be used in an item. You could not record publication date (P577) = various in an item. •  Support I think we may wish to use this property on video games too. For instance, FIFA Football 2002 (Q2420183) was published in 2001, but its chronological designation would be 2002.
