- Discussion
- @Ans: Why do you think we need the inverse? (We try to generally avoid inverse properties as it makes it more complicated to manage the data) ChristianKl (talk) 12:02, 30 October 2017 (UTC)
- If so, then why some properties has inverse? --Ans (talk) 12:09, 30 October 2017 (UTC)
- Sometimes for historical reasons (problems with inverse properties weren't clear at first so many older properties have inverses). Sometimes because they are not exact inverses despite being linked that way in our system (contains the administrative territorial entity (P150) and located in the administrative territorial entity (P131) for example). And sometimes because for the purpose of reducing the number of statements on an item it's better to have the statements on one side, and sometimes on the other. One of the latter two reasons can justify a new inverse property, but that doesn't seem likely in this case. ArthurPSmith (talk) 21:15, 30 October 2017 (UTC)
