- Discussion
- Support. This looks like a useful property for authority control for cultural heritage. I think the English label for this property would be more helpful to the user if the fact that this is for National Museums of Japan is made explicit, I suspect that we have/ will have additional e-musum ids in Wikidata. - Support; maybe needs a more specific name?. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 21:31, 19 May 2017 (UTC)
- Oppose with current name. I'm open to supporting it when it has a name that's more informative for the average user. ChristianKl (talk) 16:20, 22 May 2017 (UTC)
- @Pigsonthewing, ChristianKl: actually, even though the URL and the title shown on each page is "e-museum", the official name of the database seems to be e-Kokuho. So maybe we should use that in the property name ? I don't mind having a more transparent name, but I can't think of any that is both short and accurate. Anyhow, I don't think that should be a blocker for an "authority control" property, as there is no serious risk that it leads to a misundertanding of the property usage. --Zolo (talk) 13:06, 2 July 2017 (UTC)
- Support; if we can agree on a suitable property name. I think a property named e-museum id has potential to be misused as a general property for digitised museum objects rather than for this particular collection as intended. e-kokuho id would be much more specific or perhaps something like National Museums of Japan e-museum id could be a viable alternative. Any thoughts? Sic19 (talk) 19:44, 22 August 2017 (UTC)
