Motivation[edit]

This is less subjective than sleeping capacity. Maybe this is superfluous when we can add area -> 12m2 -> applies to part -> floor --So9q (talk) 14:56, 14 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

This is useful when I'm adding campsites with lean-to shelters to describe the shelters floorsize without having to create a new part-of item just for the lean-to only to describe the area of the floor.--So9q (talk) 14:07, 17 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion[edit]

It's the same. It's not unhindered floor space, besides unhindered is a hard to define because you can sleep with legs under a table/bench quite easily so I abandoned that and instead model as benched lean-tos. The data consumers will have no way of determining whether you can sleep in the benched lean-to though (short of having an AI a foto from the front).--So9q (talk) 14:11, 17 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • For what it's worth, we only have about three items that use "determination method: floor area" (query), so it looks like "area" isn't really being used for this purpose. I would support this if it's clear that it's able to be used for all kinds of floor area, not just the context of sleeping areas in shelters? Andrew Gray (talk) 22:58, 17 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
