- Motivation
Looking for a way to describe who has the right to vote in an election. I have to admit that I am not convinced myself about the model above, but its a start. -- Innocent bystander (talk) 13:58, 5 June 2016 (UTC)
- Discussion
- I think we can actually work with that. Personally, I am a fan of using intermediate items for complex things like that. I also just created minimum age (P2899), which would fit very neatly. So that's a Support I guess. --Srittau (talk) 23:56, 11 June 2016 (UTC)
- P2899 could be helpful, yes. It could be added to the "Swedish citizen + 18+ years old + sometime in the past lived in Sweden"-item. -- Innocent bystander (talk) 06:47, 12 June 2016 (UTC)
- The model is inconsistent. It writes dataype=item but the datatype of the example is a string. I don't think that a single string is an appropriate way to represent this concept. ChristianKl (talk) 13:33, 5 July 2016 (UTC)
- I think the intention is to create an item for "person eligible to vote in Swedish general election" which has the defining characteristics. Thryduulf (talk) 19:18, 5 July 2016 (UTC)
- Yes, Thryduulf is right! This is changing in some aspects almost every election, so you need more than one "person eligible to vote in Swedish election"-item. In the municipal elections all EU + Norway + Iceland-citizens can vote + and all other (legal) immigrants who have lived in Sweden for more than X years. In older years, people could loose their right to vote, if they had unpaid tax debts, had poverty aid or had lost their rights by some other reason. Some municipalities had different minimum ages than others. To one of the chambers in the Swedish Riksdag, only regional MP's and (some) city MP's had the right to vote. -- Innocent bystander (talk) 07:42, 6 July 2016 (UTC)
- Basically you are saying the proposal is to create a new item with the label "Swedish citizen + 18+ years old + sometime in the past lived in Sweden"? If so, please create such an item to make this proposal more clear. ChristianKl (talk) 15:12, 6 July 2016 (UTC)
- Done! -- Innocent bystander (talk) 05:07, 7 July 2016 (UTC)

- Support. I don't know that we have all the properties necessary to express the requirements noted above but that shouldn't be a bar to creating this. Thryduulf (talk) 11:16, 6 July 2016 (UTC)
- Agree, there is for example a lot of including and excluding-rules that have to be described in some way. (Minimum age 18 AND in local census-registry as of Y/M/D AND (EU28/Norway/Iceland citizen OR (other citizenship AND lived>X years in Sweden)). Putting these brackets in wrong order can change the whole meaning of the statements. -- Innocent bystander (talk) 11:38, 6 July 2016 (UTC)
