- Motivation
To be used primarily as a qualifier on depicts (P180) for the symbolic meaning of a particular depicted element. Pharos (talk) 20:48, 8 April 2017 (UTC)
- Discussion
- Question Is the symbolism of a given item objective or subjective? i.e. does everyone agree that e.g. fire striker (Q1409712) symbolises Order of the Golden Fleece (Q465774) in Armor of Emperor Ferdinand I (Q28790437) or is it (sometimes) a matter of debate? If it is subjective or not universally agreed we need some qualifier to note who states X symbolises Y. Thryduulf (talk) 22:19, 14 April 2017 (UTC)
- If we have a reliable source that says "X symbolizes Y", we should simply source the statement. - PKM (talk) 01:23, 21 July 2017 (UTC)
- Support I'd like to be able to use this property. - PKM (talk) 01:23, 21 July 2017 (UTC)
- What if we just use depicts (P180) as qualifier in depicts (P180)? Items should indicate if it is abstract or physical.
- "depicts" levels can be very deep in heraldry (4 levels and more) Weak oppose: separate items would resolve all problems d1g (talk) 22:09, 19 August 2017 (UTC)
- Support Seems to be useful. Danrok (talk) 16:59, 3 November 2017 (UTC)
- @D1gggg: can you elaborate on your solution with separate items? It's not clear to me what you have in mind. − Pintoch (talk) 10:59, 20 February 2018 (UTC)
