vglist already uses data from Wikidata so it would be easy to automatically link the two items together for a large quantity. The remaining items should then not take too long to link up, and also highlight what video game items we're missing from Wikidata.

I was thinking the same at first, but new items can be created on vglist through https://vglist.co/games/new or the Steam import tool and plenty of them aren't linked to Wikidata items now. I was also imagining that we could also automatically fill out missing data, such as when vglist has a Steam application ID for an item and Wikidata doesn't. If a property is inappropriate, perhaps something could be done with mix n match. It'd be interesting to hear Nicereddy's opinion on this. --Lewis Hulbert (talk) 15:32, 8 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Lewis Hulbert: @Jean-Frédéric: I'd support creating a property if others think it'd be useful. I'm not sure I'll be able to commit to populating the property myself (I may do it, but I won't make any guarantees for now), but the vglist API should let someone else do it relatively easily if anyone wants to.
I already have a view built for listing all games without Wikidata IDs but it's only accessible to admins (right now it's mostly visual novels that don't have Wikidata counterparts). I could add it to the GraphQL API or just expose it as a filter on the games page if people think that'd be useful for finding games that Wikidata is missing. That works for me! Jean-Fred (talk) 08:33, 9 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
