As I pointed out in Project chat, we don't have information about where and how to request this rights group, and we even don't have correct information for its rights set.

So I have some questions about this:

  1. Should we keep this rights group?
  2. If we decide to keep this rights group, where and how to request this rights group?
    1. Grant rights group by Bureaucrats (current set) or Administrators (like English Wikipedia and some other projects)?
  3. Should we keep current rights group or add override-antispoof and tboverride-account to this rights group (like Wikidata:Account creators said)?

My proposal of these three questions will be: keep it, and grant it by Administrators (and open a new section in Wikidata:Requests for permissions/Other rights), keep current rights set (only noratelimit) and grant Wikidata:Account creators to at least guideline. Thank you.--S8321414 (talk) 13:38, 23 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@S8321414 that leaves the question of what the criteria for granting the right open. That should likely be either on https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:Requests_for_permissions/Other_rights or https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:Account_creators before we could decide to open the section. I may prefer on Wikidata:Requests for permissions/Other rights.--S8321414 (talk) 23:50, 28 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
i'd be fine adding it there with fairly low requirements. i assume there are logs for such account creations so nobody could maliciously use this right long term BrokenSegue (talk) 15:42, 6 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Comment This user rights group is somewhat related to the idea of an "event coordinator" group, discussed recently at "All the participants of an editathon blocked" without any firm conclusion. One point raised is that local rights groups like this may be largely moot, given that we have the Programs & Events Dashboard, which apparently permits bulk creation of global accounts. If they don't use Dashboard, we still need to create account on Wikidata or other projects :-)
Maybe we can use en:Wikipedia:Event coordinator rights set and requirements in Wikidata?--S8321414 (talk) 23:58, 10 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Support #1 and #2.  Neutral #3, because I don't see good reasons why an account creator needs this rights. --Wüstenspringmaus talk 06:24, 8 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
But I think, to set Event coordinator rights in Wikidata, would be useful. --Wüstenspringmaus talk 06:26, 8 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
