For two unnecessary images at Commons a WD item has been opened for an unnotable military chaplain. I also want to open an item for our "mahalle" imam and can make him a cat and gallery in Commons but he is not notable. Just like this chap. I know we give importance to having a Commons cat. (I defended it several times; but supposing that people open Commons cats for people who have some notability.) BTW this WD item is opened because I asked the deletion of the nonsense Commons cat. Fails notability Quakewoody (talk) 15:04, 17 February 2021 (UTC)

Keep Meets Wikidata notability criteria. The item for a real, existing person/entity who is a musician with standard identifiers from standard music platforms. The item "refers to an instance of a clearly identifiable conceptual or material entity. The entity must be notable, in the sense that it can be described using serious and publicly available references." --Smallison (talk) 18:12, 17 February 2021 (UTC)
  • This individual is an actual person, a musician, that can be verified with music on several platforms and a small group of articles in the press. This is not someone simply posting a live video on Facebook. I am unsure as to why you, Quakewoody, believe Wikidata notability has not been met. Wikidata does not have the same notability criteria as Wikipedia.--Smallison (talk) 02:13, 18 February 2021 (UTC)
This is not a phonebook argument. This is following Wikidata criteria. --Smallison (talk) 18:36, 19 February 2021 (UTC)
This is the phone book argument. Because it takes more than simply being listed in the phonebook to be considered notable even though the phonebook is a serious and publicly available reference. Quakewoody (talk) 18:48, 19 February 2021 (UTC)
Delete All external identifiers are instances of Wikidata property for an identifier that does not imply notability (Q62589320), so there are currently no external identifiers that undoubtedly imply notability. Same for the two references one of which linking to Yahoo! Finance which states that the article was copied from Accesswire, the other being Accesswire itself which even provides a handy „Tell My Story“-button in the header. --Nw520 (talk) 00:24, 20 February 2021 (UTC)

    1) None of those identifiers imply notability. 2) With such a liberal interpretation of WD:N we're literally wasting time here, 99% of people-related items have identifiers. 3) Just some student girl from the Eastern Europe who visited Woodman because of a little money, she can't be notable just because she had 'given name+last name' -templated pseudonym. I don't see why we want to collect links to every site's recent changes page, though. The view that Wikidata:Verifiability describes doesn't reflect current practice and consensus in Wikidata (and the page itself was never made policy). It's existence is doing more to confuse users about the policies of Wikidata then it does to inform them. While it might be valuable to have a policy dealing with the subject it would to be need to be written from scratch. ChristianKl11:52, 31 December 2020 (UTC)

Looks like this was created to add an ID to a person that already existed - Q16186479. I moved the ID so I believe the duplicate can be deleted. Archiverlandson (talk) 17:18, 21 April 2021 (UTC)

Works of Stephen Sondheim

Works of Stephen Sondheim (Q106148339): Wikimedia list article: (delete | history | links | entity usage | logs)

This looks to be a duplicate entry for the human Stephen Sondheim Stephen Sondheim (Q153579). Works of his should be added (or are maybe already are present) individually? Archiverlandson (talk) 15:46, 19 April 2021 (UTC)

Not done The person and the list of works are two different things. I fixed the item (was wrong, no more "human", but "Wikimedia list article", see sitelink w:en:Works of Stephen Sondheim). stanglavine msg 17:46, 21 April 2021 (UTC)
