Task/s: Import Find a Grave memorial ID (P535) from English Wikipedia
Code: find_a_grave-id.py
Function details: Find pages using the identifier on English Wikipedia, check if there's a data item for the page and whether the property already exists on the item. If not and the Wikipedia value seemed valid import to the item here. This script is written as part of Outreachy program work and my mentor is Mike Peel --Ammarpad (talk) 05:39, 29 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
- The find a grave property is restricted to humans (and a few other classes). Could you ensure that you only add this property to items with the right type? It's possible someone would reference find a grave in a page about someone/something else. An example of this error would be w:Murder of Scott Amedure where importing the template would be the wrong thing to do. It would also be good if y ou dated your import references with retrieved (P813) or used Wikimedia import URL (P4656) to make the reference more explicit. - Sorry, I forgot to reply here but I have done this since last week. I restricted the script to just instances of human: find_a_grave-id.py#L34, so items such as murder of Scott Amedure (Q6938049) would not be edited. For the second issue, I have added Wikimedia import URL (P4656) (with the permalink of the page) as a reference now. Ammarpad (talk) 10:45, 6 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
- ok cool I support now. BrokenSegue (talk) 14:03, 6 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
