- Could your bot include a source, even if it is imported from Wikimedia project (P143) Wikipedia? The Anonymouse [talk] 16:47, 11 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- @The Anonymouse: Reading Wikipedia as a source?, I am not sure there is a consensus on this. Maybe it can be added as a comment. --Dom (talk) 07:01, 13 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- You are essentially using Wikipedia as your source, right?
- My opinion is that imported from Wikimedia project (P143) only indicates that the data came from a Wikipedia, but it should eventually be replaced with a reliable source using stated in (P248).
- That's just what I think — I'm not sure what the current community consensus is about this since even that discussion was over a year ago. Hopefully some more people can comment on that. The Anonymouse [talk] 17:22, 13 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- I think the consensus is that statements like these should have a reference to a source. This applies even if the information is added by a bot. If for some reason it is not practical for a bot to add a reference to a source then the bot should at the very least state where the information came from using imported from Wikimedia project (P143) so that other users can review. - Done in 2014 South Korean local elections (Q5518780) for Wikipedia in English and 1918 Panamanian presidential election (Q7130001) for Wikipedia in Spanish. --Dom (talk) 17:20, 29 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
