Task/s: Importing sitelinks, labels, and descriptions

Function details: I'm working on a script to find interlanguage links on pages from other wikis and import them here if they aren't already here, then remove them from the wiki in question. This, in logic, may sound like what Addbot and Legobot have done on some other wikis, plus what some other bots are doing here ... combined! I'll have the code completed, but the trial here depends on trials I run from other wikis, so I'll try to get some ASAP. -- Hazard-SJ  ✈  05:34, 11 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

    Not yet, I plan to do this on enwiki soon. The thing is, I actually started this code some time ago. Also, Addbot is leaving out some links since it isn't adding anything here. In addition, this should would be somewhat better and is somewhat different since it doesn't go around crating new items and leave the interlanguage links lying on the Wikipedia pages, like most of the bots here.  Hazard-SJ  ✈  02:44, 12 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

    That's good! :D But no harm in having other bot's help out too ;) At the moment my intent is just to merge to existing items (based on if the page already has an item), since often times if a separate item was created it they are merged separately. However, if you'd prefer if I created to reduce the presence of interwiki links overall I could do that ... which do you prefer? I might have done one or two tests of this (merging, not creating), but for the record, Wikipedia:Bots/Requests for approval/Hazard-Bot 18 is open as the first Wikipedia it plans to operate from, so I'm considering doing the trials concurrently if approved for trial on en.  Hazard-SJ  ✈  02:50, 16 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

 Question in many cases the lang links inside items are redirect and they make conficts and they cause the true page couldn't add to item. does your bot solve these redirects ? (in importing phase also for existing links in items)Monobit (talk) 13:06, 18 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

So basicly its an combination of Merlbot and SKD!Bot with Addbot. Is it doing the same checks for sitelink conflicts? Because when addbot leaves out links its because they did not import it because it needs human attention. So the only reason why a link now should be importable from the list of Addbot is if the conflict was resolved but not the link imported into wikidata. --Saehrimnir (talk) 20:00, 27 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It can handle some of the duplicate item conflicts to some extent so far, but I've paused development on the code based on Addbot's suggestion. His bot is already doing an excellent job of removing interwiki links, so if he supplies the remaining links as he suggested, I could add them to Wikidata so his bot could remove the rest.  Hazard-SJ  ✈  03:17, 28 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I can do that (I actually have it in some code working on, I'll do a short trial for that now). I'd also like to add the importing of labels and descriptions (whether with or separate from the sitelinks). As such, the bot may, for example, just adding a description that an item is for a disambiguation page, based on either category checks or template checks.  Hazard-SJ  ✈  01:57, 28 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
