KrattBot1 (talk • contribs • new items • new lexemes • SUL • Block log • User rights log • User rights • xtools)
Operator: WikedKentaur (talk • contribs • logs)
Task/s: Import EHAK codes.
Code: https://github.com/wkentaur/ehak/blob/master/read_ehak.py
Function details: Populate Estonian admin units and settlements with EHAK id (P1140) data. --WikedKentaur (talk) 14:39, 9 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment – bot operator has never positively indicated that any of the comments on his talk page regarding incorrect edits have been fixed. --Izno (talk) 19:53, 9 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- If you don't have arguments against this task you can run it from your own bot account. python script source is at [1] and data excel file at Statistical Office site [2]. --WikedKentaur (talk) 21:35, 11 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- We do not want to run your bot. The input is valuable and your help is appreciated. But it is a valid question why you did not react on comments. It is the responsibility of the bot operator to reduce errors his bot makes. And there were obvious and avoidable errors your first bot made. This is ok if you stop the bot asap, fix it, and then comment to the reporter of the bug. Why did you ignore them and created a second bot instead? — Felix Reimann (talk) 08:41, 14 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

- Ok, let's postpone this request until I have run some post-checks on previous coordinates import edits. --WikedKentaur (talk) 20:08, 20 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- I would support, because I don't see any problems with this task. But if approved, do you want to do these edits with User:KrattBot or with User:KrattBot1? --Stryn (talk) 21:48, 11 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose Sockpuppetry and lack of communication when the first bot account was blocked makes me distrust this user as a bot operator.--Jasper Deng (talk) 02:42, 12 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- @WikedKentaur: If you can't fix the bot but you stopped the bot, you're welcome to request unblock at User talk:Izno, as your main account isn't blocked. It's no problem that you don't run malfunctioning code again. Read WD:Bots for more info. You're strong admonished not to make sockpuppet to evade the block.
- @Jasper Deng: WikedKentaur is a sysop in etwp and etwt, etws as well. However, WikedKentaur doesn't know the bot policy in Wikidata and how to request for unblocking bots. He'll be a good botworker if he realize.
Support for this task iff WikedKentaur should refrain for creating sockpuppet.--GZWDer (talk) 17:30, 14 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- Whether he is a sysop is rather irrelevant. He should have, and probably did, read the bot policy the first time he asked to have a bot authorized, so I'm not going to give that much shrift. I informed him of how to request an unblock way back when the first was blocked and what he needed to do. I'm not even concerned about the fact that he thought it was necessary to start a new account (thought Jasper apparently is). That all just sounds like someone who is either unable or unwilling to fix the problems his bot has previously created, and neither of those are good indicators that he should run bots in the future. --Izno (talk) 18:00, 14 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
- @WikedKentaur: You should guarantee that:
- Fix the malfunctioning code, or never run malfunctioning code after warning;
- Never use socks to avoid blocks;
- Communicate positively;
- And ask Izno to unblock KrattBot.
Otherwise, I'll close the request in seven days.--GZWDer (talk) 12:03, 9 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
