Task/s: Adding MobyGames game ID (former scheme) (P1933), HowLongToBeat ID (P2816), and Internet Game Database game ID (P5794) to video game items based on their PCGamingWiki IDs.
Code: The code is mainly in this file.
Function details: I created a dump of PCGamingWiki's database using its Special:Export functionality and scraped the resulting XML to generate JSON with identifiers from HLTB, IGDB, and MobyGames when the game's PCGamingWiki article had them. I now want to use that data to import the values into Wikidata. This is fairly similar to previous imports I've done.
I've run 25-30 test changes on User:NicereddyBot for each of the three types of properties around 21:00, 6 December 2020. The total imports will result in up to 1016 HLTB IDs, 355 MobyGames IDs, and 388 IGDB IDs being added to Wikidata (probably subtract 10-20% from each due to some extra checks the code does to prevent bad data from being introduced).
Thanks, --Nicereddy (talk) 21:23, 6 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
- Support sgtm. thanks for doing this. Also consider uploading your scrape of PC Gaming Wiki to archive.org in case it goes down. The latest dump there is several months old. https://archive.org/details/pcgamingwiki-20200920-wikidump.7z BrokenSegue (talk) 21:32, 6 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
