Blurb... I have been active on the project since the moment I found out about it, currently admin with a wide range of actions. I have also been an admin on enwiki for quite a while now and regularly have to deal with issues where oversight is required. I do not hold any roles requiring identification at this time although I am identified to the Foundation. I have OTRS access and am always available on IRC and quickly respond via email. I live in the land of GMT(or BST) which may help spread OS coverage around the time zones looking at some of the candidates above. I am familiar with the privacy and oversight policies and I look forward to potentially helping create part of the local Oversight team for Wikidata. ·Add§hore· Talk To Me! 08:59, 23 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

- Support experienced admin and familiar with the fundamental issues. --Rschen7754 09:22, 23 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Neutral The stats provided by MF-W in this discussion do not indicate a need for local oversighters for now, in my opinion. Anyway, it is the community's decision, so I'm not going to oppose here. Regards, Vogone talk 08:24, 23 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Support Not the most active but I feel he has the right qualities.--Jasper Deng (talk) 17:04, 23 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Support True, he may not be the most active admin but we also have to remember how much time and effort Addshore has put into Addbot. To me, the said time and effort is more important than a few hundred more edits and deletions (besides, he has admin experience on enwiki aswell so its not like he is inexperienced). -- Cheers, Riley 19:01, 23 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

- Per m:OS you are supposed to notify the community of your request. Regards, Vogone talk 14:14, 23 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- I have added myself to the section on project chat, apparently I didn't click save earlier. ·Add§hore· Talk To Me! 14:30, 23 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Questions from Rschen7754 for all candidates
1. Oversighters from a few of the larger WMF projects have faced an increased risk of harassment on and off wiki, and increased pressure to disclose more information regarding a suppressed edit, i.e. who suppressed it, what the logged reason was, etc. Is this a possibility that you have considered? In the second scenario, what would your response be?
- A.
I am happy withI have no problem with the potential 'increased risk of harassment' and 'pressure to disclose' information. As for disclosing more information my response would likely be to not reveal any further details, the edit will have been suppressed in line with the oversight policy and in my opinion there is a reason that users cannot see details of OS logs. ·Add§hore· Talk To Me! 09:16, 23 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

2. Wikidata is multilingual. Which languages may be used in requests to you for oversighting? Which additional languages would you be able to oversight? What will you do if you receive a request for oversighting a text which is in a language you don't understand?
- A.My primary language is English. I see no problem with oversighting revisions in other languages due to various tools available to translate (even if some translations are bad). If I was unsure about a specific request I would allow another OS to deal with it or to work together on the request. Wikidata is never going to have oversighters that understand every language the project works with as that would require hundreds of OS users. Generally OS requests are brought forward by a user that speaks the language, this is of course a godsend. ·Add§hore· Talk To Me! 12:25, 23 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
- Questions from John F. Lewis for all candidates
3. When is it appropriate to hide a username from the public using hideuser? Why?
- A: Defamatory names ie. they are harmful and often untrue and tend to discredit or malign others.·Add§hore· Talk To Me! 12:39, 24 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
4. When is it appropriate to delete log entries (deletelogentry)? Why?
- A: When they have non-public personal information or other defamatory (see above) information. (same reasons other things would also be suppressed). ·Add§hore· Talk To Me! 12:39, 24 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
5. When is it appropriate to hide abuse filter entires (abusefilter-hide-log)? Why?
- A:Again whenever something falls within the OS policy non-public personal information or other defamatory. ·Add§hore· Talk To Me! 12:39, 24 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
