| Subclass | subclass of (P279) | All classes of subdivisions should be classified as subclasses of the most specific class available. example: province of Afghanistan (Q158683) > subclass of (P279) > Subdivisions of Afghanistan (Q156772)) and province (Q34876) |

| Subdivisions | contains the administrative territorial entity (P150) | List all subdivisions that the entity is directly divided into, but not subdivisions thereof. |
| Borders | shares border with (P47) | List all similar-level divisions that it shares a border with. This is a guideline, though some judgement can be applied when a border is co-linear with a higher level division. General only land borders and clear over-water borders are included. Use appropriate qualifiers for border articles. example: Washington (Q1223) > shares border with (P47) > Oregon (Q824), Idaho (Q1221), British Columbia (Q1974) |
