There are two major traditions in Indian classical music, namely Hindustani classical music and Carnatic music, which share similar musical concepts. In light of the introduction of the musical notation datatype, there is a need to better specify a model for representing Indian musical concepts on Wikidata.
There are presently items for the swaras of Hindustani classical music: Rishabha, Gandhara, Dhaivata, Nishada, Madhyama, Panchama, Shadja, Komal Rishabha, Komal Gandhar, Komal Dhaivata, Komal Nishada, and Teevra Madhyam.
