Event Planning[edit]
Three events are planned building on the work and engagement generated by the project - two internal Te Papa staff events and one public-facing editathon.
Stubs have been prepared to help guide the event and ease new editors into contributing.

The sheet also includes links to Wikidata items and many stubs created by Ambrosia10 and Avocadobabygirl.
Suggested Wikipedia article structure[edit]
The English Wikipedia article on the Discovery Expedition has featured article status and provides a good example of how a Wikipedia article should cover a research expedition.
Article titles[edit]
We suggest using a standard structure, with the year the expedition took place and then its name:
Sections[edit]
In general the suggested list of sections below are an appropriate way to structure an research expedition article when expanding it. Where there's little information, it may make sense to combine sections for now.
- Origins / Planning
- Funding – the people or organisations that provided financial or in kind support for the expedition
- Members or Participants – this can be a list. It's good to mention as many as possible with information on participant roles if available
- Aims / Objectives – give background on the aims or objectives of the expedition
- Research focus areas
- Details / Expedition – give information on the expedition itself, including things like the equipment used to collect items and what ships were used to sail on.
- Itinerary or route – the start/end date, where they went, what camps they used or locations they visited, who went to each location, side trips during expedition
- Noteworthy events
- Results of research
- Institutions holding collection items (if held at multiple institutions)
- Research generated – summarise the research generated from the expedition
- Legacy / Aftermath / Assessment
- Cultural references
- Bibliography – appropriate if the expedition produced specific reports, and may include the papers generated from collections obtained during expedition
