Joconde database vocabularies

These vocabularies are produced by the Service des Musées de France, a department of the french ministry of culture, to describe the collections of french museums in the database Joconde available through the platform POP.

They are publicly available since October 2019 on the platform data.culture.fr of the french Ministry of Culture via GINCO, a thesaurus management tool.

Data are published under the CC BY-SA licence

Specificities

URI : the ARK type ID are under two forms :

-the oldest are explicit, made with a prefix corresponding to the thesaurus they belong to (ex : T505-$1).

-the new ones are opaque, generated by GINCO as a GUID format (ex : d23c7120-eebf-4dce-9e4c-188ffa717b3e)

Upcoming developments

- ONOMA project : a list of cultural actors is in progress at the french Ministry of culture. The Joconde IDs will be redirected once it will be established.

-POP (Open Heritage Platform) : work in progress to link the vocabularies from GINCO to POP.

Les données disponibles sur data.culture sont uniquement le libellé principal et l'identifiant.
Il y a des cas fréquents d'ambiguïtés sur les noms que les métadonnées disponibles par défaut ne permettent pas de lever. Dans le doute, mieux vaut s'abstenir.
On peut transformer les liens vers data.culture en lien vers une page de résultats de P.O.P. (Plateforme Ouverte du Patrimoine) en utilisant un script en favori (cf. tuto ci-dessous). Le script utilisé pour transformer un vocabulaire GINCO (syntaxe RDF/XML) en un CSV d'import pour Mix'n'Match est disponible sur GitHub. La transformation, via le fichier XSL, inclut la génération de description avec les propriétés SKOS.
