Notified participants of WikiProject Wales. I just wanted to share this info about our Authority data. I'm currently trying to have a bit of a push on this so that we can use the aligned Wikidata to clean up the records. This work is extremely valuable in linking historic archival records from NLW to relevant Wikidata entities. Any help you can provide with Mix & Match or OpenRefine would be great! All Welsh GLAMs
[edit]Wikidata contains a comprehensive record of Welsh galleries, libraries, archives and museums; however, plenty of work is needed to improve and maintain this dataset.
- Libraries housed in listed buildings need seperate entities to the listed building.
Item matching
[edit]- The Coflein database of historic sites in Wales is available in Mix & Match
- National Library of Wales Authority records are available for matching on Mix & Match
Historic buildings and monuments
[edit]- The CADW database of listed buildings has been added to Wikidata, but many items need expanding/merging and labels need improving
- The Welsh Chapels Database has been almost completely matched/imported to Wikidata, but Welsh-language labels and other data may need improving with local knowledge
- A number of Welsh mansions/country houses need connecting to their wider estate using part of (P361)/has part(s) (P527)
- Add missing images using WikiShootMe
Bibliographic data
[edit]- Over 35,000 publications from the Welsh bibliography are on Wikidata, and many need matching to authors, or the author items need creating
Translate labels and descriptions to Welsh

Prepare for 2021 Census
[edit]- Add new GSS codes on all communities: here's a working list from 2011
- Add / connect all relevant villages to each community (part of)
- Add past / historic and new population to each community.
