On of the advantages of structured data is that it's possible to define specific editing behavior that can trigger bot actions in much more detail. This page exists to list cases where we might want to have bots to automatically message template messages to users. Further down the page we list actual implementations.

Missing instance of (P31) and subclass of (P279)[edit]
Having instance of (P31) and subclass of (P279) on every item is very valuable for Wikidata. As a result, I would advocate to send the user the first time he creates an item that has neither 2 days after the creation of the item a message with {{InstanceOrSubclassNeeded}} that suggests that the user adds either or asks on the Project Chat for help if he has problems finding a correct value.
