Haligonians and other amalgamations[edit]

Please note Wikidata:Requests_for_deletions#Q104720536 about Haligonians (Q104720536) created (or listed) as part of this project. It seems that a large number of similar items were created or edited to form similar amalgamations.

Despite the feedback on Requests for deletions or Project chat (Wikidata:Project_chat/Archive/2020/11#"Greenlanders"_Q101444758), I don't see concerns raised there being addressed.

The problem in a nutshell: a concept and its name shouldn't be the same Wikidata item.

Also, subclass of (P279) is being apply to items that aren't subclasses, e.g. residents of Halifax aren't necessarily Canadian citizens. See Help:Basic_membership_properties for an introduction.

Jura, you have removed all of the references for these demonyms that were painstakingly added to justify the labels and aliases. They should have been moved at least to the remaining statements for “human population” and “inhabitant”. UWashPrincipalCataloger (talk) 05:03, 26 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If you think it should have been moved somewhere else, I'd expect that you would have made a Wikidata:Bot request to fix it.
